Hi bees. My reception is in a barn and I’m having all sorts of wonderful, rustic inspiration. Mason jars, place settings on clothespins, family style dining at long tables. It’s all so perfect! Except for one thing – my dress. I didn’t even realize I was doing rustic when I bought it. Do you think I should stay rustic or try to incorporate more modern elements to match the dress? Will it look out of place – most rustic themes you see a bride in a long, flowy dress. Tell me what you think, honestly!

I think the dress (love it!) will go great with your theme. Those flowery things at the top are totally in theme.

I think your dress is lovely and will be perfect.
My wedding is also very rustic, but my dress is definately more formal.
I have since discovered that the word “elegant, romantic and princess” are thrown around a lot with regards to my dress designer, but, when I think of the qualities I want my dress to have none of those make the top of the list.
But I love my dress, just as much as I love my venue and everything else I’ve picked for my wedding.
And I was in quite a pickle when people asked what my “theme” was. (my photographer asked me my “vision” and I went “huh…rustic, southern, vintage whimsical?”
