    The blonde looks good on you, I’d just worry about the upkeep.

    @ImaStarr:  as someone who is a natural brunette and took the plunge to go fully blonde this summer, I will warn you that the damage to your hair may not make it worth it in the end.  I did everything right, went to a high quality professional salon, paid for the best products, only shampooed my hair every three days and deep conditioned, blah blah blah…no matter what you do, the bleaching and coloring process WILL fry your hair.  If you can live with that, go for it.  I have since dyed mine back to brunette and the damage from going blonde made my hair so difficult to live with that I ended up cutting my hair super short last week to let it grow out fresh again.  Just a cautionary word of advice!  Good luck  🙂

    It looks good on you. Just realize that once you lighten your hair, it is nearly impossible to get your natural color back without a really long and akward grow out period. Speaking from experience, it’s very hard to match your natural color if you want to go back because it’s impossible to get all of the undertones/highlights when dying bleached hair darker. It’s also hard on your hair to go that light and requires considerable upkeep. Not trying to sound like a complete downer. I’m biased from spending the last year and a half growing out my natural color after years and years of lightening.

    @TattedNYBride:

    @ImaStarr:

    +1 on the damage. Bleaching is the only way to go lighter and it inevitably damages your hair. I have silky straight hair that doesn’t hold curls or hair accessories, and when I was lightening I couldn’t run my fingers through it without getting stuck in knots. I also used to get this rats nest on the underside at the nape of my neck. Also had to use tons of conditioner. I loved how blonde looked, but hated how it felt.

    @ImaStarr:  I wish I could say otherwise, but I had remarkably healthy hair before I started lightening it.  Nice and straight and silky, DH loved running his hands through it. After I went blonde, it was super dry and the ends were so damaged that they would knot up just sitting there. I also had very bad breakage, giving my hair all different lengths through the layers which led to very visible split ends. Just trying to brush through it was difficult and I really saw no other option than to cut it and start fresh. I don’t say all of this to be dramatic, but I loved my long hair. And even though I loved the way blonde looked on me, after three months I really regretted it.
