Should I even bother doing STDs?

Considering that’s Labor Day weekend and lots of people make plans very far in advance, yes I would send STDs yesterday.

You can do them without photos.

We skipped E-photos and STDs all together though. We skipped the photos because we just didn’t see the point. I knew I wasn’t doing STDs. We skipped STDs because 90% of our guests were local, we were getting married on a Saturday in March (no holidays really) and we wanted to keep the list down. So if we didn’t know you well enough to tell you the date, we were OK with the fact that you couldn’t make it. (Still looking at the avg 20% decline anyway).

Can you just send some without photos? I know you wanted to use them, but their #1 purpose is for letting guests know your wedding date . You can put your pictures on a wedding website or make a photo guest book For your reception (that guests sign instead of a traditional guest book).

I would send save the dates that do not include your engagement pictures, ASAP as the PP suggested considering your wedding falls on a long weekend.

We just sent a card with the date on, no photos. I would send the STD asap don’t wait for photos. We sent ours out last summer.

@purplehearts:  Can you just use a nice recent picture you have of the two of you together?

@purplehearts:  Why don’t you just call people now? I’m not personally a fan of STDs, but if you really want them, you can still send them in April.

I wanted the same thing, but the timing just wasn’t working out.  We used an etsy seller who made this adorable drawing of my FI and I.  She drew in our dogs, and they look AWESOME.  I even have one framed in my house!

The shop owner is very professional, and responds quickly.  Turn around time wasn’t too long either.  Good Luck!

I say skip the save the dates since the wedding is so close, and just use cute postcards. You can use a cute photo of the two of you and have postcards printed up at Office Depot for a really reasonable price.
