For sure schedule a consultation! Any good florist worth their salt should be able to come up with affordable options! You wil be fine!

I think having a consultation would be good for you to go to.  You can speak with them and figure out exactly what your money will get you…they can show you different arrangements and suggest options for you to think about.  I’m spending just a little more than you on flowers ($1800) but that is getting me 13 centerpieces, 6 BM bouquets, my bouquet, corsages and boutouinneres for 6 GM, Groom, 2 FOB, and my grandfather.  Our florists are a retired couple, but they are the nicest people and got amazing reviews on weddingwire.com and theknot.com 🙂

I emailed florists to get quotes. Once I told them I only want bouquets and boutenneirs (no centerpieces, etc) they never answered. I’m thinking of just ordering some from Sams to DIY.

Definitely schedule a consultation.  Let them know your budget in advance and any respectful and reputable store will work around your budget and provide suggestions on the types of flowers available.

What I did, in my consultation request, I attached sample photos of what I was interested in and asked for a ballpark quote.  That helped me narrow down which florist I was able to work with.

Goodness gracious, $1500 isn’t THAT tiny. You’d be surprised what they can do for you when you tell them you’re on a budget! 🙂

A lot of florists have tips (such as substituting less expensive flowers that are aesthetically similar to the ones you like) that can help you keep the costs down.

I met with 2-3 florists (my venue ended up changing) and all of them were very sweet and easy to work with, though my budget was a bit larger. But go talk to them and see what they can do for you!

@lauraashley09:   That’s a low budget?  Yikes!!  I was thinking about that – but for a small wedding – ~50 people, so not many centerpieces…..
