Ok I have 3 main job leads and I’m not sure how much to harrass them…
1) Got the contact through a family friend and got an interview without even really knowing what the job was. They basically said they wanted me, were going to fly me up to shadow the boss for a few days and then go from there. They said they’d email me that afternoon, which they never did. Long story short, I sent several unanswered emails and finally found out that they are hiring some senior people first and weren’t sure if they’d be able to hire me. They told my family friend they would contact me in December, but I’m not supposed to know that and I haven’t heard anything. This was over a month ago and I haven’t heard from them.
2) I had a phone interview for a job I would love and the guy seemed really interested, but he said he won’t know if he can hire until January (due to a recent company acquisition that needs to be finalized). He said to contact him in January and he promised to bring me in for an in-person interview if there is a job, which he thinks there will be. I sent a thank-you email but that was about a month ago as well.
3) I got contacted about a job I applied for online (woah!!) and they sent me an online test to take and said they would go from there. I took the test on Sunday and they emailed me Monday morning said they got it and would review it and get back to me.
So, do you ladies think I should email again about any of these jobs? I’m thinking I should about #1, but won’t get my hopes up! I don’t want to bug the guy at #2 if he doesn’t have any new information, and I have no idea how long it will take them to review my online test for job #3 so again I don’t want to pester them. These are all PhD-level jobs but I’ve never applied for anything outside of academia before!!
