Should I get a return address stamp made?

I used a stamp for the return address on our invites & RSVPs, and I printed the invitee adresses on the envelopes. I’m so glad I got the stamp, it saved a ton of time and I love the way it turned out! I say go for it.

I got one! It’s super cute, and way better than handwriting my address a million times.

I got mine from Papersushi on Etsy, its good quality and great customer service!

Yes, yes, and YES. That stamp made my life so much easier. I used it on STDs, invitations, response cards and thank yous from my shower and plan to use it for wedding thank yous. I seriously got my money’s worth. Mine was around $30 too.

I got one of those self-inking stamps from vistaprint. Granted, I didn’t want/need anything fancy, I just wanted legible lol

But I ended up getting two, one with our current names, and another with our married name for after the wedding. I think each one was like $12? I am so happy I did that, invites were a breeze. I just stamped all the envelopes beforehand, and then I just hand-addressed invites from that stack. We will be doing thank yous the same way since it worked so well.

EDIT: if you are planning on printing your invites, I might reconsider since its relatively easy to add a return address to something you are already printing.

How many invites are you making? I hand-addressed over 100; it was hard, but worth it. I just took 2-3 weeks where every day I would do like 15 or 20. It wasn’t overwhelming; but only because for each envelope I was only writing the guests’ addresses (not the return address). I wouldn’t have been able to do it without the stamp!

We got a return address stamp that had 3 different plates we could interchange and I’ve used it on everything. I used it for our save the date’s, bridal Shower TY’s, and invitations. I’ll also be using it on our wedding TY’s. I think they’re more fun than just a printed return label. Plus, like you said, you can use it in the future. If you’re curious, I got mine from a company called Mason Row. I had a Living Social or Groupon voucher for it and it was $39 I think.

Remember that you won’t just be using the return stamp for your address on invites.  You will have Thank Yous to write and send, and every month you have bills and regular corespondence.  I really wish we had gotten our self inking return address stamp sooner.  We only got it for the final round of Thank Yous.  Our invites had printed return address, but I hand wrote all my shower thank you return addresses, and that was enough to make me want the self inking stamp.

amberback:  My return address stamp is one of my favourite things I have got for the wedding so far. I love that we will be able to use it for our thank you cards.

amberback:  I would get it in black, then it would have use after the wedding too. Then everything on the outside of the envelopes will match too.

My invites and colors were orange and green, but my envelopes were kind of tan and I used black ink. Who cares, people throw them away anyway! lol

I did have a lot of extra envelopes, and I used a notecard with lines on it (slipped inside the envelope) to help keep my lines straight. I lightly wrote the addresses in pencil, double/triple checked that it was right, then wrote over it with ink. I think I only had to trash one envelope that I totally flubbed (accidentally wrote the wrong zip code).

My handwriting is awful too, but I found that if I wrote in all caps (not my wedding style/theme at all, but oh well), it didn’t look terrible. lol no one has said anything about my envelopes or invites, so I’m not too fussed with them. 🙂

amberback:  I so want to get a stamp but I’m worried I might not get my use from it. We are currently renting because after the wedding jobs depending we may move up to where Fi is from (3 hours away) we are unsure how long we will stay in our current house as it is getting smaller by the day it feels like (we have an 8 month old) we do know we will stay there until at least after the wedding (next September) and perhaps through the winter. Do you think $30 would be a decent amount of money to spend on a stamp for that length of time??
