@eeerika22: My man doesn't wear rings, but he will once we're married. I don't think he's ready for that ring yet! So at least in my relationship, it wouldn't really be a good gift. Save that money for his dream wedding band :)
@love108: yeah i have thoght about that and i wouldnt want to waste the money. its more me being silly and him having a nicer way of showing hes mine hahaha i know i am dumb.
SO and I have discussed him wearing a band throughout engagement. It's still undecided but if he wants it we have it. I would like him to decide to wear it, but it's up to him.
@mcklough: yeah i think i would feel better if he made the decison to want to wear one. then again i feel bad that he doesnt :/
@eeerika22: ehh it's different because he might feel others would think he was trying to come across as married already?
I saw in another post that you said "he never wanted it to leave your finger" so it sounds like (I don't mean this as an insult) that he sees engagement and marriage as a sort of sign of "ownership". Since that is a very traditional view I would guess since it's untraditional for a man to wear a ring prior to wedding he might not want to.
@mcklough: yeah i def understand. :/ I just am so in love with mine i wish i could get him a nice one as well! but i dont want to force it on him to wear. i know he is commited to me hahah i would just like him to have something to show like i do i guess.
It just seems like an unnecessary step. When he's ready to be engaged, it will happen. It seems a bit...forced maybe?
My FI used to say he "wasn't into rings" ... but after we got engaged and bought his wedding band he won't stop talking about getting to wear it in a few weeks.
That being said, I think this is the nice way a guy goes about saying he's just not ready!!
@KatyElle: what Katy said but also dont spend the money if hes not into it - my husband lasted only a few mins wearing his wedding ring and never to be worn again. if i had known that we could have saved $$$
I will be getting my FI his own engagement ring for Valentines Day.
Do what will make him happy.

I really want my boyfriend to wear a pre engament ring like I do. He does wear this black car gasket ring (he used to work on cars and thats how we met) and he gave me one as well when we first started dating. (I still wear it too on my right hand) I have brought it up before about me getting him a ring but he doesnt like the idea too much because he says hes not really into rings. I mean he says when we get married then of course he will wear his but I would really like to get him a nice simple one. He wouldnt be mad if I just went ahead and got him one but I dont know if it would mean as much to him as it does to me. What so you think?
