Fiance & I are eloping in 8 days. We’ve chartered a boat, booked hotel rooms for 4 of our besties and are going to elope. I’m excited. It’s perfect, exactly what I want. I’m not a planner, at all. Just finding a hotel I wanted to book for the trip almost threw me off the deep end (we’re going to a very popular ocean town). I still don’t have a dress. I’ve looked and can’t find anything I want. I would like to find a stylish white maxi, something that can’t be found a Victoria Secret etc. But I’ve had no luck. I would like to find something online because I want to go party at the lake this weekend instead of shopping for a dress. I would also like something I can wear again. I’ve been eyeing Rachel Pally’s Nita dress in canyon. Do you think I’ll regret not going the whole white dress route down the road? I don’t think I’ll really care, but I’m still hesitant to buy it. Should I get this light pink dress or keep looking for something in a more traditional color? (I kinda look like the chick pictured, just no bangs and darker hair, if that makes a differencein your opinion).

I think you should wear whatever you love. No reason to go with white, if that’s not what you really want.

If you are loving the non-white dress then wear that. There is no reason you have to wear white for any wedding. My MOH’s cousin wore blood red! Go with something that suits your style and you love, I’m sure any of us can look back at clothes we chose to wear years ago and regret the choices or wonder what we were thinking. If you go for a white dress just because you feel you should you may have those same regrets anyways.

Thanks for the advice, I think I’ll order the pink Rachel Pally and see how I like it in person 🙂

If you want to amp up the “bridal” factor, but keep the colour, what about doing a birdcage veil in a pink netting?
You can find pink netting at most fabric stores, and there are tutorials online for how to pin/glue them onto combs to make fascinators. Add a silk flower or jewelled brooch and VOILA! BRIDE!
