- Wedding: June 2013
Found out today that one of my two bridesmaids is losing her job in the very near future. 🙁 I know money was tight beforehand for her, and I’ve been trying to help out both my bridesmaids as much as I can already to ease the costs of being in my wedding…such as paying for the dresses, paying for hair, makeup, jewelry, etc. I’m even putting them up in the rental house I have for the week so they don’t have to pay for a hotel (my wedding is a destination wedding a few states away).
I’ve been saying from the beginning that I don’t want my bridesmaids to go into debt for my wedding, and I’m trying to help offset as many costs of the wedding as I and my budgeting can allow. For the record, my bridesmaids have NEVER asked me to pay for a darn thing, it is me offering to try and help them out.
Here is my question….Should I offer to help with transportation costs any? Like gas or tolls? Would this be going overboard to help out a bridesmaid or be a good gesture? I feel like if I do it for one, I should do it for both of them….
Problem is… I’m not made of money. I’m starting to feel burnt out from always offering/paying for things… I don’t want to get to the point where I feel like I’m essentially paying for someone to be a part of my wedding.
