If she’s not a bridesmaid then she should only be invited to her side of the family’s shower.

I thought showers included both sides of the family? Or are you having 2 showers, one for each side of the family?  I remember my first wedding, I had 1 and invited people from both sides of the family.

@Lalk2bee:  Invite her if she’s a bridesmaid, but give her a heads up that it’ll be your family and church and while you’d love for her to be there and meet them, she’s totally free to not come with no explanation and doesn’t need to bring a gift.

@Lalk2bee:  if she is a BM yes, if you are close with her yes. if not then just the family one… it would be like “i went to work today and they through me a shower” onny your work friends are there…but if she is a BM or close with her i would at least ask her if she wanted to attend…

I thought that mothers, sisters, and grandmothers were invited to both showers (his side/her side).

Atleast, that’s how it is from where I live.

ETA: Yes, I would invite her. And there is nothing like pissing off your inlaws before you are even married. 😛
