We got our photos last night (YAY) all 719 of them in digital format. We have an online gallery where people can view and ‘favourite’ pictures but my MIL/FIL is not particularly tech savy and couldn’t figure it out for our engagement photos and there were only 55 of those…
We’re going to visit this weekend, I’m thinking I should print a proof album where they can put a sticker on their favourites (I can colour code them so different people get different stickers…) it will cost $140 if I go the walmart printing route or $250 if I go the professional printing route (Way better colour and that’s how we will print whatever we decide to buy).
What do you think? Should I print them all? Print some? Print none?

Why not just pull out a laptop while sitting dear ol’MIL and show her the pictures that way. You can jot down the numbers of the pix she likes and print later. That’s what I did for my MIL.

howtobeawife: I’m not sure I can bear sitting there with her while she does that. Our online gallery is really pretty easy to deal with, I’m not sure why she couldn’t figure it out. Maybe I’ll just set it up for her and tell her to click the hearts and see how that goes.

- Wedding: May 2014 - Madison, WI
We ended up with a ton of coupon codes for Shutterfly, I made smaller 8×8 photo albums for our parents that used quite a few of our 990 photos. I paid about $20/book for 65 page books. Then I printed out some of our favorite photos and let them pick which ones they wanted in 8×10 and 5×7. Then I printed out some family photos for parents/brothers/sisters as well mostly in 4×6. If they saw any they wanted out of those in a different size/print I told them to just let me know.
But really I didn’t think it was worth printing them all.

We’re giving each parents and grandparents a CD of all of the photos. I definitely wouldn’t print them all because they really don’t need to see them all, we’re just giving a Cd becuase it’s easier. Make them a book with family photos, important pics, them, and you and DH.

I printed ALL of mine, 560 in 4×6 from a pro lab when a sale came around, got 50% off. Waiting for sales on other sizes to print enlargements.

MsGinkgo: I printed all of them. I found that I got a better view of the picture in print than when looking on the computer. I framed some, threw some away, and gave some away as gifts to family.
CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart, etc offer printing deals weekly. You can usually score 30-50% of photo printing deals……

MsGinkgo: Try the pre-paid print plans through ShutterFly. 400 4×6 prints are currently $44. So 2 of those plans would get you all of your prints, and then the remaining 81 prints can be used whenever you need them, up to 2 years later.
ETA: Actually, just noticed there’s a 600 print plan. Combine that with the 200 print plan and it gets down even cheaper to just $74.

Soon2BeMrsS: interesting. Do you know how long shipping takes usually? I was hoping to have the pictures to bring with us this weekend – I could always ship to my inlaws if I need to, but I’d rather not.

MsGinkgo: oh, that I can’t remember. I was going to order a few engagement prints tonight so I could let you know tomorrow.
