My dress was cleaned and boxed up. I received it back last week. I can see the top part of the dress through the clear window in the box. But the problem is I can’t see the bottom of the dress, which was the dirtiest part before it was sent to the cleaners. I would like to make sure they actually did a good job cleaning it and got everything off of it. However, the box has flaps that are keeping it closed. I can’t just pull the flaps out to open the box. The flaps have little edges that are keeping the box locked in place. So for me to actually see the bottom of the dress I would have to cut the flaps of the box so that I could open it. Should I do this? Will this compromise long term storage of the dress? It’s so hard because I never really wanted my dress locked up in a nice box like this. I wanted to be able to pull it out. But I think the dry cleaner thought they were doing me a favor by putting it in the nicer box for no extra charge. What would you do?
