When I booked our planner in Spain I asked her specifically if she’d be able to help me source things.
Since then, pretty much everything I’ve asked her to help find, she’s told me she doesn’t know or to go to Ikea! These are things like mason jars, not world-class sculptures!!! I also asked her if she could find me a classical guitarist and she told me I’d need a vocalist or string quartet… WTF? You’re telling me no one with a guitar can play classical music????
Last month we visited Spain and met her in person. Bearing in mind I’d told her repeatedly FI is half Spanish and has loads of family there, the first thing she said was ‘Why Spain?’. She didn’t have a clue when we asked her questions about the venue either and, quite frankly, I’m beginning to wonder why I’m paying her at all.
When I’ve asked her to contact vendors (florists and photographers who have been great for past weddings in FI’s family) she’s tried to push her vendors onto us instead so we’ve ended up contacting them ourselves. She did try and ring the florist but got no answer for a month, so I googled them, found an email address for them and translated an email into Spanish online and had an appointment within an hour! Would it have been showing too much initiative for her to do the same?????
Until now I’ve thought well, on the day at least she’ll be helpful but honestly, I don’t know how! The venue decorate a lot of it themselves anyway so she’ll just be someone else I have to buy a meal for!!!!
Ha ha, reading this back I think I know the answer to my own question but, should I fire her ass, or am I being a bridezilla and expecting too much?
