I’d say either one-shouldered dress, since that will better suit busty ladies, while looking fab on smaller women as well.

I like the first one.  The second one is nice, too, but there’s something about all that bunching at the waistline that bugs me.  I have horrible fashion sense though lol

@JJSoon2bwife14:  also, I just paid $350 for an Alfred Sung bridesmaid dress. Damn inflated Canadian prices 🙁

@JJSoon2bwife14:  I like 2, 3 and 4.  I’m personally not fond of floor length dresses because I”m OCD about hem length but that’s just me.

Why don’t you say: here’s the designer, here’s the colour, here’s 4 styles (of your initial selection), each woman can choose which one she wants from there? That way they have some choice but you also have some control.  I think co-ordinated but not matching dresses are much more interesting, but not all brides like that look.

@JJSoon2bwife14:  I have tried on the 2 alfred sung dresses you have in your poll in Dupioni (they come in another fabric that IMO feels really cheap).  I really liked them and they were our second choice.  My girls all liked them (i just really wanted lace).  They’re a nice, rewearable dress (depending on the colour).  My only caution is that they aren’t flattering on all body shapes.  They worked for me, I’m a bottom heavy hour glass, My little sister is shaped like a 16 year old boy (seriously, her measurements are 33.5, 32.5, 34.5 – getting her sized for a dress was ridiculous) and it wasn’t great on her at all.

I really do like the alfred sung ones!

As a bridesmaid,  its actually so easy when the bride just tells you what to get (even if you roll your eyes at her choice), its all done in 2 emails.  As soon as the bride wants a consensus,  between 3 or 5 or 7 girls, it becomes chaos. A dozen phone calls,  emails, try-ons, and everybody is left frustrated and unhappy.  A good bridesmaid sucks it up and says “the dress is lovely! “

As a busty bride, one shoulder dresses look awful on me.

My suggestion is to pick a designer, a fabric and a color and either short or long and tell them to pick their dress from there.

@MsGinkgo:  I tried on a size 12 (looked ridiculously bad clamped) and they ordered a size 2. I have almost the exact same measurements to your sister but a 24 inch waist. Will it look ridiculous on me?! I got it in the peu de soi or whatever the other fabric was too.

    Omg freaking out……

@JJSoon2bwife14:  I think you should put your foot down, pick the dress you like best, and tell your girls to order it. Unless you get mismatched bridesmaid dresses, you can’t make everyone happy. Go with your gut!
