For those of you who are already married I have a question.

I have the opportunity to sell my dress and recover half of the cost. I keep changing my mind on whether I should sell it or not.

Has anyone sold theirs and regretted it? Or sold it and thought it was great?

    Thanks for your help!

In this economy it's worth it to sell the dress. You'll have plenty of pictures. And if you children ask you 15 years down the road why you don't have it tell them about the recession we went through. it will be a heroic story. :)

I was going to save mine for my step daughters but , when they get married, it will be out of style.

If I sell it, one day I can help buy them a dress...

I bought my Nicole Miller dress off of ebay for 250, and sold it for 350.  I pretty much broke even after alterations and steaming.  I loved my dress, but I'll never wear it again and I'm pretty sure my kids will want to rock their own wedding look.  It's a personal decision though- if you don't want to- don't do it!

How much will you recover? I think my answer would change depending on if half is $1k or $250 (the latter would be my case!). For me, $250 isn't quite enough for me to make up my mind whether I should sell or keep. But if I could get $1k back, I would definitely be selling it! That's a lot of money!

I sold my dress 2 weeks ago!  No regrets!

I realized that I would never use the dress again, and it would be a shame for it to sit in my closet unappreciated.  I decided to replace it with something I can use more often.  I took the proceeds to Tiffany's and bought an amazing aquamarine necklace!!  If I have a daughter someday, she can borrow "something blue" that was once my wedding dress!
