Hello ladies! I have an advice question. I have a garment steamer that is commercial quality, and I”m wondering if I should steam my dress and save the $100+ to get it done professionally or if I should not take the risk. Of course, I’ve waited until a week before my wedding to figure this out, so that does play in to it.

I personally would have it done professionally.

Personally, I just wouldn’t risk it. Id find a dry cleaner with a lot of wedding dress experience and get it done professionally. The peace of mind is worth the cost IMO. If you do decide to DIY, I think you can find some good tutorials on Google

I have a garment steamer as well. I’ve been steaming mine at home and haven’t had any problems. If you dress is made of satin; I’d say let the pros do it but mine is taffeta and it’s been fine.

Check with the store you got the dress at or your seamstress. They may be able to do it for free or at least cheaper than a dry cleaners.
