I have glasses too, and I’ve had a few people say that I should wear contacts for the wedding. I’ve worn glasses nearly my entire life! So I’m going to keep wearing them :] They’re who I am and I love the way the look even if somebody else doesn’t.

I say, sport ’em!!! :]

I agree with RecessionistaBride.  Wear them!  They are a part of you. I wear glasses too, and I have since seventh grade. I have never worn contacts and I don’t plan to for the wedding.  I friend of mine got married recently and was one of the first people I had ever seen worse glasses during the wedding, and it made me feel better.

Reminds me of senior year of highschool- I was going to get senior portraits taken, mom and I were looking for a photographer and one tried to get me to take mine off, said they’d reflect funny in picture.  We didn’t book that photographer.

Wear your glasses 🙂

I don’t have any pictures handy, but I have seen a lot of really nice photos of brides wearing glasses. Since they are a part of you, I say wear them, and to heck with whatever anyone else thinks. Your glasses are a part of who you are, so don’t feel like you have to conform to what other people think.

I have just started wearing glasses on a regular basis, so I am contemplating wearing mine on my wedding day too. If I don’t wear them, I think I will be squinting at everyone and the pictures will look worse than if I would wear them. I wear Vogue glasses and I get complements while wearing them all the time, so I don’t think it would be a bad thing, if I decide to wear them.

If your glasses are a part of who you are, then wear them!  People shouldn’t be shocked that you plan on wearing them on your wedding day.

Glasses are gorgeous! And I know a lot of people who just don’t look like themselves if they’re not wearing glasses. If you always wear your glasses it would look like your husband was marrying a stranger.

A great article / selection of pictures for you:

I would definitely say to wear your glasses! I wouldn’t ever sacrifice your own comfort just to suit the needs and vanities of others, especially when it is your day. I think glasses just become a part of you when wearing them for so long, there isn’t anything wrong with that.

I think you should wear what makes you feel best.  But you could always test out contacts now and see if you like them.  You have a year to the wedding, so if you do like them it will give your FI time to adjust to your new look.  They have lots of different brands of contacts to try and the new types might work better for you now if the old types didn’t work in the past.

Im wearing my glasses and I wouldn’t have it any other way, I think I look better with them. HOWEVER though, I may get different lenses. I have transitions and I don’t want them to transition when we take outside pictures. but we’ll see.

I say wear your glasses proudly! If you don’t wear them you wouldn’t look like yourself since you have been rocking the frames so long. Plus you can use it as an excuse to splurge on a really cute new pair of frames 😉

PS. I wear glasses too and NOTHING could ever get me to wear contacts, I can’t stand things near/in my eyes! Even my optometrist agreed that I’m too sensitive for contacts when she tried putting eye drops in my eyes and I was fighting it :p
