@cbco:  Cramps are definitely normal.  Have you noticed if the sharper ones are coming when you stand up, sit down or move a bit faster than normal?  That’s typically when I’ve been getting the sharper ones and from what I understand those are round ligament pains and are caused by your uterus starting to expand.

@cbco:  totally normal though annoying and of course worrisome! Something no one tells you about being pregnant is you will experience stomach pains and cramps on and off throughout and it’s normal. I was most surprised by that personally.

I think it’s really normal. I’ve pretty much never not had cramps or some kind of pain in my lower stomach since I got my BFP. Try to relax!

The way i think about it is, its growing pains, like when your younger and get leg pains, your uterus is growing at a massive rate, so it will sting a bit. Once i started to think about it this way it eased my mind massively. Congratulations on your bfp!!

@cbco:  NORMALLLL!!!  Mine were pretty excruciating.  It’s your uterus stretching.  Just breathe!  Mine lasted for about a week to a week and half.

@cbco:  Normal. I recall having some terrible cramping in early pregnancy. Some made me lay on the couch in pain and cry. Everything turned out fine, I have a healthy baby. Good luck and take care of yourself.

@cbco:  From what I’ve heard, it *can* though it might not be the ‘norm’.  🙂

I had HORRIBLE cramps. I think they lasted quite a long time… probably until 8 or 10 weeks. It sucked so bad!

Totally normal, and worse for me when I’m dehydrated. If you feel a cramp, have a glass of water and see if that helps!

@KatieBklyn:  Yes, I agree with Katie, definitely worse for me when dehydrated. But they’ve been normal for me and I’m now 9 1/2 weeks along and all looks good.

I had bad cramps early in my pregnancy; I didn’t know I was pregnant and though I was gearing up for a heavy period. It was as painful as the worst menstrual cramps I’ve had, off and on. I spotted off and on through the first half of my pregnancy and went on to have a healthy full term baby.

I had bad cramps in the middle of the night before my BFP and then weeks 4-5. I think they were mostly gone by six weeks. It would wake me up and I’d be pretty miserable for about 10 minutes. Drinking water, peeing, and putting a heat pad on helped. I still get very mild cramping here and there now at 9.5 weeks. Congrats to you!
