So my mom is folding paper cranes for me for my wedding, and we’ve decided to place one crane at each guest’s place setting as decoration.
Our wedding colors are chartreuse and chocolate brown, and we’ll have white floral centerpieces.
I have found packs of origami paper that only contain green patterns. However, my mom has suggested that we just use rainbow paper, as it’s much cheaper than the packs of specific colors.
I know I’m overthinking this, but will rainbow cranes look out of place and clash with our tablescape? I think the bright assortment of colors could be very cute, I’m just worried that it will look strange. Though honestly I’m sure no one will notice but me.
What do you all think?

I voted to go with the greens. Having wedding colors only works if you present them in many visible places and refrain from mixing in a lot of distracting colors. Your reception will have a more visually interesting look if you keep the colors consistent. Now, if you wanted to have rainbows everywhere, then that would be different – and kind of awesome -but it doesn’t sound like that’s what you’re going for.
By The Way that is awesome that your mom is folding paper cranes for everyone, how neat.

if i could do it all over i would have paid more to get the matching paper. but my rainbow cranes are slowly growing on me. like they have more character or something. I’d say go with your gut-reaction, but either way I’m sure everyone will love them!

I think it depends on how many you plan to fold. Are you going to use cranes as other decoration too? I know origami paper can get expensive, so if you plan to make like a thousand of them, then I say get the assorted colors. If not, then stick to greens only to match your theme. 🙂
