Say you’re having an afternoon wedding, around 2pm. You have plenty of people in your wedding party and VIPs (1 MOH, 4 BMs, 3 FGs, 2 Moms, and 2 older nieces who are doing special readings). Should everyone split up and meet up at the house for pictures and getting ready? I was thinking along the lines of this:
Salon 1: me, my mom, my MOH, and 1 BM (my sister)
Salon 2: FI’s mom, 2 BMs (his sister and goddaughter), 1 FG (his niece)
Salon 3: 1 BM (my SIL), 2 FG (my youngest nieces), 2 VIPs (my oldest nieces)
It would be selfish of me to make them meet up at the salon at 6am. I had that experience when I was a BM at my friend’s (aka the MOH) wedding. While I understand it was an 11am wedding, I don’t think the stylist know how to treat all kinds of hair textures and facial complexions. At least if I split them up into 3 nearby hair salons, it will save some time.
Any suggestions what should I do?

@BeeRod527: cant the salon put on extra staff to cope on the day?

It’s possible but will cost double! Plus everyone have different types of hair. Some are fine while others are thick.

I think that sounds like a good plan!

I like the idea of splitting up, but I’m not sure about the kids. Your leaving one adult to transport and take care of 4 kids. I don’t know the ages, but I could see that being problematic. Who watches them while SIL’s hair is being styled? Or will they all be done at the same time? Plus if I was SIL, I would be a little annoyed everyone else got to hang out with other adults, while I was herding a bunch of kids. Is there someone else who could go with her, or split the kids up, or both?

Splitting up is a great idea.

My SIL’s kids will be 16, 11, 5, and 22 months at the time of the wedding. The youngest 2 will be easy to style since they will most likely keep their natural curls. The oldest 2 have long, thick hair. Since they are not attendants, they can always keep their hair down and have it style the day before. My SIL’s hair isn’t as long as her daughters but it’s thick.
The other reason for the potential split up is that my mom want us to go to a Dominican salon to get the hair done. She’s not confident if a non-Dominican stylist can style my hair. But we’ll see.
