So whenever I want to tweak my budget or figure out possible solutions for saving money, I usually go over to the Nest. But the board is usually pretty slow and/or dead. Not a lot of responses. And this board seems to be much more active.
But most of the budgets here are wedding-related. I’m not complaining about that at all because it’s interesting to see what people budget for when it comes to weddings.
But what if you’re not planning a wedding? And you just want budget help with your everyday life?
I think it’d be good for this board to start offering help for people looking for financial advice on their normal, everyday-life budgets.
What do you ladies think?

Sure, post away. I’ve had many conversations on WB about NWR funds. I’ve also found some websites and apps through the Hive that were helpful for budgeting or coupony type things.

@LadyBlackheart: Great idea!
I am such a list-oriented Type A person, so I sat down with my monthly income and sorted out all my expenses. When FI and I bought a house, we redid it with both our incomes and our combined expenses. So far we are doing great on a budget. We both got raises this year, so the combined extra income we put straight into three separate savings accounts (each denoted for certain things). We basically still live off our old paychecks so we can save the rest.

@LadyBlackheart: I could talk about finances all day! Do you want a separate board for everyday finances, like over on the NWR or Nesting boards above? I was visiting The Nest too, but they are slow. I have been posting my fair share of NWR here though.

@sienna76: Hmm, I think a separate board might be best. People might get confused by seeing all the other wedding budgets on this board.
I guess it could go under the Nesting boards, technically? Since our daily budgets are a part of what enables us to “nest”, lol.
Or it could go under the NWR boards, either is fine.
We should start a petition! Ask Wedding Bee to create a new board for NWR, Everyday Finances! 🙂

@LadyBlackheart: I did in the ideas section quite some time ago.

@LadyBlackheart: I would head to the NWR section andpost in The Lounge boards probably. Or perhaps a Money section could be added to Nesting or NWR.

@LadyBlackheart: There have been NWR budget posts here before, go ahead!
I don’t specifically budget. I’m pretty good with money though, and I don’t see it as being beneficial to me. I think it would just give me added stress that I don’t need. I had such a sinking feeling in my stomach just from our house deposit – let alone the downpayment!

I think a NWR financial board would be great!

If yall would like a separate board, please write a post about it in “Ideas” up in the top left hand corner of the screen. This let’s tech know what features the hive would like to see.

I don’t need to post my budget right now, I just meant like other people could. I love going to the Money Matters board on the Nest and seeing what other people post about their finances or any issues they may have. I guess I’m nosy lol but a part of it is because I always learn good tips and tricks from the ladies that respond to the OP.
But that board on the Nest is usually dead.
And I’ve seen a few people post NWR stuff on this board but it seems to be few and far between.
I think WB could really benefit from either a NWR or Nesting Money board 🙂
@AB Bride: Did you get any response at all from the people who run WB? Like even a “We’ll consider it”? Or nothing at all?

@tksjewelry: Ok, I will do that right now, thanks!

A lot of people post not wedding related money topics in Money. It’s okay, we all do it!

@LadyBlackheart: I love that idea! I’m like@sienna76: , I love talking about finances! I’m not much of an expert though. I’m hoping to learn more about retirement accounts with my new job. Sienna, do you work in finance? I’m at a point in my life where I’m going to have to make a career decision soon (when I graduate next year) & idk if I should stay working in banking or try to find something else that I might enjoy…I’m not a finance major though. Just curious! Sorry for the off topic question haha
I started budgeting for the household back in January this year and it’s come quite a ways in just 7 months! I started using budgetsimple 2 months ago & man I loveeee it!. My SO gets annoyed with how budget/money/savings crazy I can be though. She just doesn’t get it lol
