I think it would be nice! Maybe the restaurant could bring out a small cake for you and Fiance to cut, and then bring out individual pieces for guests.

If you want to do it, I don’t see a problem with it.  If you don’t want to do it, nobody will miss it.

Yeah I’d still have a cake. You will only need a small one anyway:)

Lol, just like it isn’t a Birthday with out cake… in my world it isn’t a Wedding without one either.

So ya, I would have cake if I was in your shoes…

You’ll need to ask the Venue tho how that is to work… do they provide it, do you provide it, does it have to be from a list of their approved venders… do they charge a cutting & plating fee (YIKES).  All import Questions.

Mr TTR and I eloped… and we didn’t have cake at our Destination Wedding (a fact I have to say I missed… because some plans fell thru)

BUT we more than made up for it at our Back Home Reception with a full-sized 3 Tiered Wedding Cake with Buttercream Icing and a fancy cake topper… and we did the celebratory cutting the cake too (altho no face smushing).  Loved our cake, and loved the sentiment of it all.

@mrsedwardslpn:  Is the cake at the restaurant $100? Can you bring in your own from a bakery (I’m sure the othet is delicious, but you could probably get a better deal?)

Also, maybe bring take out boxes so the guests can take some home, if its a bigger cake and there wil be leftovers.

I think you’d be fine either way. I’m a huge cake lover, so even for our 8 guest Destination Wedding, we ordered a cake that would feed 40 ppl! We’re doing an oceanfront ceremony and then dinner at a fancy restaurant. The cakes can be $$ though, so if you are on a tight budget, you could definitely skip it! Maybe the restaurant could make you some special custom dessert?

If you are having pictures taken, then for sure!

You can get a 2 tier cake for you and your guests quite cheaply!
