@carrotstick:  I decided very recently to hire a videographer.  Originally I said no, I don’t need that but I’ve seen in lots of places that people regret it and whatnot.  The other day I saw an article on Pinterest that had the ‘top 10 things brides regret not doing’ and videographer was number TWO!  That pushed me over the edge. It wasn’t in our budget but I figure we’ll have it forever.  Sure, it’s not like I’m going to watch it every day but it will be something to show guests (elder great aunts and uncles) who can’t attend.  Plus, it will be something to show our kids someday, or at wedding anniversaries.  I’d do it.

In the Seatle area everyone starts around $2000 and that’s how I decided no way at first, but after LOTS of searching I found someone for $750.

Good luck!  I’m getting married NEXT MONTH!  And we’ll get our video about 2-3 weeks after which is SO much faster than pictures so hopefully that will hold me over until then (I’m thinking it’ll take about 4 months to get pictures back – they are great photographers but MAN! are they slooooow)

Do you have a friend or family member that would be a ble to do it for you (a good job too)? I had one of my uncles do it. And I thought it turned out wonderfully.

I’m going to try and find the YouTube link.

Our wedding wasn’t necessarily casual, but it was small. I only had video for the getting ready and the ceremony. Photog stayed for the entire reception. It was perfect. Do it! Especially since you were able to find a good price. You won’t regret it!

linsical:  I would recommend it for sure! I watch it from time to time and don’t regret it at all! I even get my husband to watch 🙂
