Bump.  I just moved and am thinking about a gallery wall, too.

xstitchbride425:  I did a quick google search. I like both of these but I’m leaning towards the using shelves so that I can rearrange pictures over time without more holes in the wall.

howtobeawife:  I like those shelves, especially with the mismatch frames and the overlap, it looks really cool. The “Mr and Mrs” thing is a little much for me, thought I do like the photo arrangement on the wall, at least you can change out the photos if you wanted to change them.

SithLady:  xstitchbride425:  Yep, I’m definitely leaning more towards the shelves. I also like the mismatched and overlapped frames look. It kind of gives a freedom to add new pictures without perfectly spacing/balancing everything.

Also, OP, how big is that center picture?? If the side ones are 8×8, I’m afraid the center one must be ginormous!

These are the only ones we have on display. We got engaged and had our engagment pics done in Hawaii. There’s an awesome photographer that lives out there, Clark Little, and the pics surrounding our engagement pics are all his! Love this little piece of Hawaii in our living room.

SithLady:  I agree. The “Mr. & Mrs.” thing is very strange to me. If I came into someone’s house and basically saw a whole wall dedicated to their wedding, I would be really weirded out.

And with that said, I hope you mix in other pics of you as a couple/pics of you with other family members/etc. with wedding pictures on the shelves (kind of how the Google pic is). Cuz again, if it was all wedding pictures, it’d seem rather obsessive to me.

LOVE the shelf idea – its a great way to get loads of pics up without turning your walls into a pin cushion with all those nails!! and super easy to swap pics in and out when other important pics come along – agree with the PP that sometimes the big ‘wedding only’ pic displays can look a little shrine like.

have suggested the shelves to DH before but he didnt seem keen… think im just gonna whack them up when he is at work! lol

I’m planning on a gallery wall without the ‘mr and mrs’. I want to do a mix of sizes, some pictures, some prints, and a big wooden or metal ‘C’ cause that will be our last name initial. It won’t be pics of just us, there will also be family pics, snapshots, everything. We got our first photo for it actually, it’s my nieces first Halloween picture!

House has existing picture molding so we’ll use that. Not feeling a need to put nails in refinished horse hair plaster walls.
