My budget was 4-5K, and I fell in LOVE with a dress that was only $2400! It’s excellent quality, too (and I know what you mean about quality – a lot of the cheaper dresses I tried on felt cheap). I think, sometimes, you pay for the name. My dress is made by a less well-known designer, so I wasn’t paying for the brand, if that makes any sense.

MaltaLovesUruguay:  It’s a Leanne Marshall dress! I tried on a few of her designs and loved them all. I’m so happy with it, and would have chosen it regardless of the price. But payinig only half of my budget was certainly a plus!

It will probably help to identify what it is you like about those designs and then be realistic about how much of those elements you can incorporate at the $3k range. For example, I knew I liked lace, but wasn’t going to get a full lace dress.

I initially went to David’s Bridal to try on dresses and felt like I looked awful in everything. There was only one dress I tried on that I didn’t think was poorly constructed and ill-fitting though, to be fair, I wasn’t aware that they only sold off the rack and therefore they didn’t have my size for most of the dresses I tried on. The second time I went shopping I found my dress (Tara Keely TK 2358) and even though it was only about $500 more than some of the DB dresses, I thought that there was a big improvement in quality, which made me comfortable staying within my budget.

(Dress doesn’t come in until December, so stock photo for now. I ordered it in ivory, not sherbert.)<br />
