I don’t know if this is what you’re looking for because I did not choose something “beachy”….but I did get married on the beach!

I’m probably not what you’re looking for but I’ll share just in case. We’re getting married on the beach in April but we’re not going the traditional casual route. We’re actually toeing the line of black tie optional. We love the ocean but we also love the formality so we decided to just go for it and do an elegant 7pm wedding on the beach. We figured we’d get some side eye from people but so far everyone has loved the idea. It’s all the fun of dressing up without the worry of uncomfortable shoes!

ETA: I just realized that I didn’t actually tell you about my dress. doh. I don’t have a picture because I’m at work but I’m wearing Allure 8917.

Here’s my beauty! I still need some alterations (I am EXTREMELY lacking in the boob dept), but I am having my ceremony in the sand. Reception is in a room, but my guests have free roam of a private beach and gardens throughout my wedding. I was definitely going for something different, but I fell in LOVE with this dress!

I thought for sure I’d want something simple, but this just felt right!  Get whatever feels good to you, while still keeping in mind things you have to have in a dress (for example – not too heavy/hot, etc)

just_another_dandelion:  I’m so glad to hear that someone else had the same idea we had! I want a beach wedding, but also formal and elegant. I was worried people would think it was crazy. What kind of reception venue are you doing?
