I didn’t really choose a color scheme for mine…I just made sure I had quite a few brooches w/red in them since my sash will be a dark red.  I also wanted several brooches w/pearls because of my jewelry.  I think I had about 80 brooches total for mine, at least 20 were borrowed from my MIL.  I order most of them at fabulousbrooch.com – they are the cheapest and you get them quickly (UPS).  Any other questions let me know, I had a hard time finding tutorials so if I can help you at all just ask!

Yay for brooch bouquets! Here’s the link to the tutorial I made (with lots of pics) but here’s the finished product. It’s got around 60 brooches, and we went with silvers/blues/teals/purples to stay with our peacock color palette. I LOVE it, can’t wait to use it in a week 🙂

I had a smaller bouquet. I used about 50 pieces… attached to wire. I got mine from friends and family, ebay, and on sale from various stores ( Fred Meyer & Michaels) for around $4 each. I tried not to spend more than $4 a brooch (including shipping). the only “borrowed” one is the cameo. It came from MIL and I’m giving it to my SIL (her daughter) now that I’m finished. I didn’t really have any color scheme.

Ugh I love these bouquets so much. So pretty and creative! Here’s mine. It’s only one angle, but it’s got a bunch of unique pieces. I plan on adding some leaves under the flowers and wrapping satin around the stems. I used 3 sparkly hydrangeas, 20 brooches, and a few smaller silver & rhinestone charms that were meant for jewelry making. I also used what feels like an entire pound of floral wire! Enjoy making it, it’s a lot of fun. I had a friend come over and help me twist the wires and place the brooches.
