i’ve been thinking about how to have my gown bustled when the time comes, and was thinking that it might be cool to have multiple points in an under/french bustle as high up as they can put them…giving it a sort of victorian feel, with a little extra volume up that high in the back. has anyone ever heard of an austrian bustle? apparently it’s like a multi-point french bustle, only the points are at different levels instead of all in a row, and it sounds like just what i’m looking for. i’m not sure it’ll work though, with how low down the gown is fitted.
please show off your bustles, if you have a picture handy, and post if it was your bridal salon seamstress or if you went to an independent seamstress! i’m hoping it’ll help me think about this more critically, and admittedly i’m a little nervous of salon seamstress alterations, especially since my salon threw my alterations in for free to sweeten the deal on the dress. i’m also debating about slimming the skirt a bit/taking a bit of volume out of it. not sure. what do you think?
