One of the things I am most excited about is our wedding cake! My wonderful FI's aunt works at a bakery making wedding cakes (lucky right?) and has very generously offered to make whichever wedding cake we wanted as well as the groom's cake. :) Needless to say I am so very blessed to have such wonderful connections and to be marrying into such a loving and generous family. :)
So here are our choices! I would LOVE to see everyone elses!
Here is the wedding cake! instead of these flowers were going to have garden roses and our monogram will be on the 'tall' layer
And here is the Groom's cake.. the superheros will be different but this is the general idea... My FI has collected comic books since he was a little boy and LOVES them.. so what better way to show it?

Here is ours - vanilla cake with strawberry and whipped cream filling. I was hoping for a few more flowers to fill in the spaces in between the layers, but it still looks beautiful - and FI likes it this way so that makes me happy as well :-). Unfortunately with a whipped cream topping, the cake topper would sink into our cake, so we put it in front. It was still a hit though!!

We had a wedding cake of cheese and then cupcakes which my Mum made.
@Prewitt: Love the colors :-) I'm sure they were so delicious! Your wedding looks so beautiful! It's hard to believe that it's been 2 weeks!
We are going to have cheesecake with a topping bar instead of wedding cake. I'm getting my FI a Star Wars cake for his grooms cake though. It'll be red velvet. Hopefully it'll look like this!

OMG BoiledPNut I love your theme for the grooms cake....I think I am going to steal it! The FH is a HUGE star wars fan....infact our living room is done in star wars....plus I have a surprise up my sleeve for the FH....only my MOH, my mom, my sister, and my Brother who is marrying us knows.....My brother has agreed to dress up as Darth to marry us! I know its corny but I know the FH is going to be freaking out so I thought this would take the nerves away! I dont really care what others think about it....its going to be fun and rememberable!

But it is going to be Squared shape. My Aunt who is making the cake for us only has square pans. Im not fussy so it will work for me!
Here were my cake and cupcakes and then my husband's groom's cake also.
Made by SIL!! She spent so much time on making the cake and flowers on top!!
we are thinking of doing a little cake to cut like mand, and then some sort of other dessert for our guests. instead of the pink on this i will probably just do white, and instead of the bow probably one of our fuchsia peonies.
the groom's cake will also be dodgers instead of yankees =)

Here is our wedding cake. It was crazy how much I loved this cake. We had a lovebird theme and our baker did an exellent job.
We are getting married in Vegas, hence the Vegas themed cake. What do you think?
These are our inspiration pictures. Our cakes will be tweaked a bit and some personal touches added. But you get the idea. :)
Buttercream with vintage brooches for one wedding.
Champagne bubble cake for the other, with edible blown sugar bubbles.
The first picture is of our wedding cake. The middle tier is actually plum purple; I know it's hard to see with the uplighting. The next picture is of the groom's cake that I surprised my groom with. He's what I call a gaming nerd lol, but I love him anyways, and he loved the cake.
