My FI bought my ring online from Good Old Gold.  They sourced the stone for me and at the time they were a Ritani dealer so I got my setting from them as well.  They sent the stone directly to Ritani to be set and once it was set it was sent back to GOG and then it was on its way to me.  Whole thing took about 3 weeks.

If you’re going to buy a stone online, make sure it’s from a reputable jeweler that can actually lay eyes on the actual stone.

Here’s my oval halo that was purchased off blue nile. Not a split shank but definitely on the delicate side.

@MsPups:  Mines a moissanite, is that okay? It’s an antique cushion cut, 1.5ct equivalent!

My oval from Blue Nile (pic from our e-session).  I also wanted a very delicate band, and thought I wanted split shank, but now I appreciate the simplicity of what my husband chose.  BTW – I think oval halos look great too!

@MsPups:  I believe I read that due to shape, ovals appear larger than certain other cuts (for example, princess), even if they are the same carat weight.  My husband choose it, but I recall him saying it was French Pave.  Best of luck and do share what you end up choosing!

@MsPups:  He did the build your own ring option and said there is only one halo setting. He did mention that in the picture it looked like the halo would be a little bit thicker but was pleasantly surprised at how delicate it looked when he finally got his hands on it.

I bought my ring from a close relative. I was going to buy a very similar one from blue Nile but my relatove sold this ring to me for only $4000! It was a steal!! I couldn’t resist haha. And she wore it for less than a month so it’s brandnew. $4000 for 1.39ct center stone with a 0.45ct halo is a pretty awesome deal lol.

Like other ladies on this thread, I prefer a delicate band rather than a thick band. It just looks a lot more elegant and vintage to me. 🙂 I love oval halos!!!!!

btw, you ladies all have gorgeous rings!!!

My oval diamond was purchased loose online at James Allen.  My semi mount is from Jared, and my custom halo was added later by a local jeweler.
