Ours is about 95% finished. Just some touch up paint and other parts to be completed. Enjoy designing your kitchen! it was a bit stressful at times but we love the outcome. It’s a little like wedding planning 😉

@amandasouthcarolina:  Thank you for starting this thread!

We’re also in the process of building a new house and I’ve been obsessed with looking at kitchen designs lately.  I’m interested to see all the responses.

@LMH0602:  That is really gorgeous!  I’m seriously considering white cabinets since our hardwoods will be stained dark.

@amandasouthcarolina:  What color granite are you going with for the countertops?  Assuming you’re going with granite, of course, lol.

I’m thinking a medium taupe-gray granite with small speckles instead of the big splotches.  And I love the brushed nickel hardware for the cabinets.  Also, I think I want our island to be the same dark wood as the floors, our floorplan is an open concept design.

@amandasouthcarolina:  That sounds gorgeous!  I’m going with marble in our guest bathroom, I also love the look of it.

Below is a googled pic of my “dream kitchen” idea, except our island will be angled toward the great room and dining room (all one big room):

Here is ours!  I love having a gas range.  It was difficult to choose the granite that we wanted, but I am very happy with it.

Sorry that it’s not a great angle… most of the island is cut off.

@amandasouthcarolina:   Thanks!! The counter top is a quartz stone by Cambria. The color I think is called Torquay. We love the look of marble but were wary of the upkeep and durability especially once we have kids. This was suggested to us as a better alternative for a similar look. It’s not quite the same as marble and a bit pricier but we still love how it came out.  No we are not very handy when it comes to DIY home projects just yet so we had someone professionally install it. We have a bathroom we hope to redo one day. That may be our first home project attempt!

@amandasouthcarolina:  I’m also obsessed with House Hunters lately, too!  I haven’t decided on a backsplash yet … we’re meeting with our designer next week, I’m so excited!  🙂
