I am in the process of trying to decide if I want my bridesmaids to wear the same dress or the same lenght and fabric but different styles. I have four bridesmaids. One is short (5’0), two are 5’6 and skinny and one is 5’11 and alot bigger than the others. The girls are all telling me it’s up to me but I can’t seem to decide. Can you show me pictures of your girls? Any pictures would help but I would be looking for long chiffon dresses!!
Thanks for your help bee’s.

I felt my girls didn’t wear the usual bridesmaid dresses you see a lot because they were halter top. I think halter top flatters every figure, and as you can see, my girls all have different body types. They were very comfortable and the humidity that day had to be 100%!
Those were also chiffon.

@Rubbs: Thanks, your girls look very good!! I’m loving the one shoulder so if I go with one dress for all four girls, i’m guessing it’ll be the one shoulder!! But I do want them to all feel gorgeous and comfortable so I really want them to tell me wwhich style they want best but all they keep saying is it’s up to you!! grrr

I decided to have my girls select their own dresses but they all had to be from the same manufacturer, same color, length, and fabric. Even with those parameters they had ~30 choices. They all keep commenting about how they are really excited to wear their dress so mission accomplished. Its really important to me that they feel their best on my big day.
I think the key to the look is making sure the length and fabric is the same- they should all look like they’re going to the same party. I highly recommend taking a look at the dessy.com website. Their dresses are perfect for this sort of thing.
This isn’t me but I think it works

Mine were satin, not chiffon, but they were floor length. All from Alfred Angelo — reasonably priced and I know they have a ton of chiffon options!

I went all out and let my girls choose their own style and colour – my only stipulation was that they all wore floor length chiffon.
But this worked for us, because we had a rainbow themed wedding so the whole day was really bright and summery!

@kikiallain: Thank you… My girls said that too… And I was like but I want YOU to like it too since you’re the ones wearing it! lol

Great pictures and great inspirations.. i have actually just found the dessy website today and there are plenty of options… i think i may just let them choose but it’s always hard to order without trying and I think many of those dresses that are in the stores over here don’t come in 4 different sizes for them all to try on.

There’s an online store call weddingtonway (check the spelling) and they carry the dresses on dessy.com and have service where the girls can borrow dresses to try on and ship back the ones that don’t fit.
We didn’t use the service but it was an option. Most of my girls ordered their dresses without trying them on. Big risk for them but at least they got to choose. I have one BM who modeled them for the others at the bridal store we went to and we eliminated a few choices.

I, my girls, and guests all loved that my girls were wearing different styles. One dress style might not look good or feel comfortable on a whole group of girls, so this worked out perfectly!
