I would love to see other DIY ceremony programs! Where did you get the idea from and did you find it worth the effort?
I came up with the idea for ours, roof shingles with ceremony info glued to the front and back:
Originally we were going to use ceder shingles as backing, but Darling Husband forgot them in Canada so we had to scout the Swedish countryside until we found some replacement pine shingles (thankfully grandma knows tons of people, so we just had to drive between them until we found one that would give us some). Darling Husband cut them in appropriate lengths and my parents removed all splinters. I created the layout and we had them printed at a local printing house for $60. Darling Husband then glued the programs straight onto the wood, I wrapped them with twine and added a lavender filled envelop to the back (we used lavender buds as confetti as the church wouldn’t allow anything non-biodegradable).
The envelope is open here as someone used the confetti, but it was closed around the twine when we handed them out in church.
They involved a fair amount of work and some stress (like finding the new shingles and a printer in rural Northern Sweden as we run out of time to have them printed in Toronto), but we’re both happy that we had them as we felt it was a great way to give some credit to all the people that were part of the wedding/responsible for the ceremony music.
