mattsgirl813:  the first picture I have already posted on here. We are still renovating but it shows what a difference just flooring and paint can make.

And these two pictures are of a super quick kitchen remodle I did in a rental appartment last year. We literally had about 3 days and $400 for cabinets and a sink. My father and I did all of the work and I think it turned out really nice.

This is still in progress, but this is our laundry room. Before: dark ugly wood paneling. The shelves had 4 cabinet doors, I plan to add the two outside ones back and leave the middle open. Here is where we are at right now:

MissCountryGirl727:  Do you mind if I ask what color paint you used in your laundry room?  I love it!  I want to paint my laundry/first floor bathroom a similar color.

fancypants:  thanks! It’s Sonora Rose, a Valspar color at Lowes. I wanted a coral color, and this was the one DH and I agreed on that wasn’t too pink or too orange. We primed the whole room with kiltz first so it wouldn’t lose it’s pop from being over the dark wood. It makes that small room seem so much bigger!

Here is our kitchen before:  (ETA: excuse the mess, I was reorganizing all the cabinets and getting rid of DH’s junk when I took these, I had just moved in!) We still need new light fixtures, but here’s the after: (sorry about the blocked out sections, I saved these from my blog, but didn’t want the water mark on there, and the originals are on an external hard drive I’m too lazy to get. lol) We did everything ourselves (meaning I did everything myself, DH only funded the projects lol), including refinishing the countertops, painting the cabinets, I made the curtains and refinished the table and chairs myself.

wandering_gypsy:  How did you refinish the countertops? The whole room looks amazing! It was a smart move to remove those cabinets that were over what is now a nice eating area.

BluePeaches:  Thank you! We used Rustoleum Countertop Transformations. It was a LOT of work, you are basically laying a new laminate countertop ontop of the old ones… it involved a lot of sanding.  It was worth it though, it’s been probably 3 years now and it’s still in great condition.

okqueenbee:  Thank you! I absolutely love it, it took a long time to get to this point, and now I hardly remember that it looked like that!  Crazy!
