I love strapless dresses, but I feel like they aren't the most flattering on me because I have really broad shoulders. Do any Bees have pictures of dresses with straps, capsleeves, or that are otherwise not strapless? I'd love to see some inspiration photos I could bring with me to an appointment and to get an idea of which brands might have what I'm looking for!
*bump* anyone? It doesn't have to be your dress, but maybe one you've seen or tried on. Any ideas would really help me out!
I thought the same thing about sleeves... I wanted cap or off the shoulder to draw the attention away from my arms... as it turn out... strapless was a much more flattering option. When you go to the store - have the sales associate recommend styles!!
Here's my dress- a Mikaella. Pronovias also makes a lot of options with straps/sleeves.
So I don't know if you've been admiring Adorae like lots of brides, but Sottero and Midgley has Adorae Louise:

@destiny1120: A lot of my friends have told me that they ended up with a style they never thought they wanted, so maybe when I go shopping I'll change my mind. I'm hoping I find at least a few strapless styles I like because I am afraid I will limit my selection too much by ruling it out!
@Miss BooBoo: Love your dress! The top is gorgeous.
@pengoala: I've definitely been admiring the Adorae, I've seen it on a lot of posts here. I'm not sure the silhouette will be right for me (I'm more of a pear shape), but I love the drama of the dress.
@Miss. Meeps: Thanks so much :) I love it too. It's Amsale and the name of the dress is "Candace".
I don't like strapless dresses on me either and I had the worst time finding one that isn't strapless. I actually went to one bridal store that told me that didn't have a single dress that wasn't strapless. But finally I found this one and fell in love. Allure Couture C155

@SerenaSF: This Amsale is one of my favorites, I love the shape of it. I wish it was a little closer to my budget!
@MaraBeth: It was over my budget as well but I still tried it on with the plan that if I loved it I could get it used. If you are open to buying a used dress, just check if any of the used sites (preowneddresses.com, oncewed, etc) have the dresses you are interested in and then when you try them on you don't feel guilty about it. There are a lot of Amasale Coco's being sold right now :)
ETA: Claire Pettibone also has some stunning non strapless dresses... Madeline, Chantilly, and Lydia to name a few.
Here's mine - the "Jenni" by Modern Trousseau:

@October2010Bride: Your dress is beautiful! It looks beautiful on you, too. I really like the sleeves and the lace on the back.
@MaraBeth - thanks! I found it online and stalked it until I could have it shipped to a store in Southern California. I was very determined to have a non-strapless dress, since I have a broad (swimmer's) back too.
@October2010Bride: Yep, I was a swimmer for 10 years, too! I think I will forever have swimmer shoulders.
I just bought my dress and it's a Justin Alexander Signature 9552. It's a strapless dress with a matching long sleeve lace bolero. Pronovias and Allure Couture have some nice dresses with short/cap/long sleeves so check them out.
These are three dresses I am considering. I dislike strapless dresses. These are Saja.

Straps were a requirement for my dress...here it is:

Here is another one I liked, didn't get:

This was my first dress obsession until I realized that I DO like strapless necklines if it's a sweetheart. But I still like this dress a lot.

@_Krystal_: The lace on that Allure dress is gorgeous!
Thanks, Bees! These pictures are giving me some great ideas, I'll be sure to look for bridal stores that may carry some of these lines.
Here is my dress. I'm actually considering getting the straps removed, but I'm waiting til it comes in and fits correctly to decide for sure.

both me & my best friend knew we didn't want strapless dresses - it was a little harder than you'd think, but we both ended up with the PERFECT dress for each of our tastes

You should search "Temple Ready" wedding dresses. They are usually for LDS weddings but they all have sleeves. I'm not sure how interested you are in ordereing online since most of the stores are in Utah, but they have LOTS of options on their websites. Like:http://www.latterdaybride.com/

It was really hard finding a dress that wasn't strapless...and of course, every salon consultant was quick to say, "We can always add straps to a strapless dress." IMO, though, then it looks like a strapless dress with straps added. I wanted a dress in which the straps/sleeves were an integral part of the bodice. Happily, I found the perfect dress for me:
I know I've posted it a million times! :-) Sorry, it's so hard to resist! ;-)
