I think that FI is buying my wedding jewelry as a gift, and he keeps asking me what I want. The problem is--I don't know! I feel like I have an image in my head of what I like, but can't find it anywhere...so ladies, let's see your earrings! Brownie points if they're on your ear, so I can see the actual size

Sorry for the ginormous photo!!! Ack!!! Anywho, these are from Overstock.com, I love love love them! They're exactly the same as the photo which is always a bonus when you order something online ;) They're probably about 2" or so long. I'll have a photo of them on next week when I go for my first fitting :)
@bakerella: so pretty! I love the vintage-y look. I'm definitely looking forward to pics of them on you!
@ddubzz: how cool that you have your mom's earrings...are they your something borrowed? Or old?
These are mine (sorry about the crappy webcam pic but it does show size). My ring and dress both have marquise stones so I love that they all kind of match.
Can you add a pic of your dress so we can see the style?

Yay I JUST bought mine on Tuesday and I love them!! They are set to arrive on Monday I believe so fingers crossed I love them as much once they get here. Also-- my first etsy purchase! :)
Here they are by themselves:

and here they are on the model (not me clearly :) )

I think they'll go super well with the top of my dress which has some crystal detailing (sorry the pic is on its side... but you can still see the bling):

@CorgiTales: Which seller did you get those earrings from? I'm in love!
Here are mine. I bought them on Etsy from Luxe Deluxe, which has fabulous vintage-y wedding jewelry. My absolute favorite thing about them is that they are super light weight!
@TheFutureMcBride: http://www.etsy.com/shop/LizardiBridal that is the shop! I can't speak for the actual quality yet because I haven't gotten them yet (check with me next week!) but the owner of the shop is SUPER nice and easy to work with. If you send them a picture of your dress and tell them what you're looking for they will make suggestions for you, and they also do custom work (everything is handmade obviously). Plus they have a return policy so if you don't like something you can send it back and they'll either rework it so you like it or exchange for something else. I emailed back and forth with the owner for several days and she was always very quick to get back to me and super nice-- plus she gave me the option of overnighting if i wanted to because i told her i was trying on my dress on Monday (I chose not to though bc it was pricey)
@CorgiTales: those are gorgeous, definitely post when you get them!
@camrie: those are really nice as well, and pretty much the size I'm looking for. Where are they from? And here is my dress--it's very simple, no beading, although I'm thinking of adding a beaded/blinged out sash to it:

@ bakerella - I LOOOVE your earrings. I know you got them on overstock - I doubt they're still listed - do you know who the maker is?
@hilsy85: I got them from newoutlet.com - they have a ton of earrings on there.
I actually took the stock photo and sized it in photoshop, printed and cut it out to see how big they would be (since it gave the lenght on their site). It gave me a chance to kind of try them out first.
Definitely think you could do some statement earrings with your dress. I had some huge ones but thought they were overkill since my dress has some bling.
@camrie: I have noo idea how to use photoshop/don't have it on our computer, but what a cool trick! That's one of the most annoying things, not being able to know how they'll look on your ear.
@hilsy85: I'm sure you could do it in Word too. I just used the rulers on the side to see if they were the same lenght that the description said.
Yeah I HATE when I get jewelry and it's bigger or smaller than I expect.
These are mine. I am going for an Old Hollywood/vintage feel. Unfortunately I don't have a pic of me wearing them, but I figured I'd post anyway...oh and even though the pic is huge (sorry), the earrings aren't. They are only 1- 1/4" L x 5/8" W

From Etsy, about 20$. I'm not recommending the vendor though-- price was good, shipping was fast, but her communication is TERRIBLE. And she doesn't leave feedback. at all. which is a douche move (esp since I left positive for her).
ETA: Since I didn't post a pic with them on, they are really 'delicate' looking, light weight [I love dangly earrings, but heavy ones end up hurting after wearing them for 8+hours], and about an inch and a half or so [long]from hoop to semi-precious stone.
I just recently found mine and I LOVE them. For some reason, I REALLY wanted yellow gold tone... not sure why. Like you, I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted, and just couldn't find them. Well, I found them at Nordstrom when I wasn't really looking for them... go figure.
They're "Princess" by Nadri at Nordstrom.
I think they're much prettier in person. You can find them here: http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3052909?Category=&Search=True&SearchType=keywordsearch&keyword=nadri&origin=searchresults
I'm thinking of something like this - I'm more partial to the studs because I don't like big heavy earrings and to me there's just something elegant about simple earrings, although all of your earrings are stunning! Heavy earrings just bother my ears. I want aquamarine because they're my favorite, they're both of our birthstones, and they'll be my something blue!

A picture of one of them on me:

A picture of the earrings alone:

My earrings (and necklace) from etsy seller AFinishingTouch:
Honestly I'm not all that in love with them anymore. I bought them last summer and I wish I could buy more, but it's just not in the budget. These are what I'd really like to wear but I most certainly don't have the money for...
My earrings came in! Please excuse the self-photo with my iphone that i feel looks really dorky.... :) It is hard to take a pic of your own earrings!
So anyways... they're a little smaller than I thought they'd be (but I don't know why I thought they'd be bigger). But they're REALLY pretty and I think I really like them. I am trying on my dress this week so I'll make a final decision then!
@Mattel: Where did you find your earrings? I love them!
I rented these beauties through Adorn.com. They're 2.4 carat diamonds so there's no way I could afford to purchase them.
Love this thread! I haven't even begun to think about the details like earrings yet, but I am getting some inspiration here.
@lrwedd: I love those! And those are pretty much exactly the size I want. I'll have to check out Macys!
