I have no idea which kind of flatware to choose. Yes…this is a high class problem. I get it. But I am so overwhelmed with the freakin’ choices and have no idea which direction to go in.
Part of it is that I’m extremely picky. I can’t just choose anything. I have to pick something of quality, that is pretty, somewhat classic and not insanely expensive should something get left somewhere or the disposal makes it mark on something.
I would love to see any flatware you would like to share! Feel free to include your china or everyday pattern, if you like.

I love our everday stuff. It feels very substantial. When we we unpacking it DH actually said, “hey this stuff doesn’t bend like our old silverware!” Thanks for testing that out! Haha. We haven’t had an occassion to use our fancy stuff yet, but I like the pattern and think it goes well with our china.

oh I love our flatware. We initially planned to use it only for our casual china but realized it works for our fancy china as well. It feels very substantial in our hands. the weight is perfect and I love the glimmer from the hammered metal.

this is our everyday dinnerware and silverware from bloomies
This is our bone china (Wedgewood, discontinued)
And this is our sterling silver flatware by Towle (ours is engraved with our initial on the handle)

@mstellah: Love that you have your initial monogrammed on the silver! I believe everything should be monogrammed! 😉 I love the dainty pattern on your china, too. I consider all china art.
@Meowkers: This is so cosmopolitan! I only wish I could pull something off like this. I really, really like it. Loving the hammered finish and slim handles.
@MeganRae1230: Love love love the French Perle flatware. I am so glad I asked to see someone’s because this is now a strong possibility and I would have NEVER considered this on my own. From the thumbnail pic I would have said no, but your link brought a big pic and I like the tear drop on it. I am huge fan of French feeling stuff and this fits very well!
Ok…so do you all see why I have issues? I like it all!

I’m pretty excited, if only because our current silverware is crappy plastic handle Walmart stuff that I bought a few years ago. We’ve lost several pieces to breaking. :
And our dinnerware:

@vorpalette: MEE TOOO. Before I moved in with FI I was using IKEA. Which, I have to say has lasted, still shines and has never rusted. I will be keeping it for guests/parties. He’s got something from who knows where but it’s very ornate and I’m just not a fan.
I want something new, totally my style but something he likes, too. He says he will use anything but I still want to consider him. Your stuff is very stream lined and clean! I like it. I love classic white dishes.
In all my single days, this is what I was most excited to have on a registry…flatware. Maybe that’s why this is such a big deal. I’ve always equated nice flatware with married life and having your shit together. ;P

@Coral99: Thank you! I actually had a different set of dinnerware chosen (still white), but we stopped into the store and FI really liked those. Mostly I just wanted white, so I was fine with this. And I looove the handles on the flatware. They a little modern, but still simple and they go great with the dinnerware.

@mstellah: your flatware sets are gorgeous!

Ours is Oneida Michelangelo …. this will be our everday silverware, and we’re still looking for a “Good” set for special occasions. This is really nice, good weight, and we got it on sale!

@PeachSnapple: Wow. That’s your everyday?! That’s really pretty and ornate! I love it! What will/does your everyday plates, etc look like?

@Meowkers: I love your flatware! We’re also going for a hammered look, though the dimples on ours are smoother and the handles are less dainty.
Flatware: Silver Echo by Reed & Barton
China: Birchwood by Noritake
And for kicks, our crystal! Knightsbridge by Wedgwood (the pattern look like a flower when viewed from above!):

We agreed on the flatware. My fiancé wants the white and turquoise. I am sure I will be the one to give in because I like his choice and he hates mine lol. He thinks it looks like something our grandparents would have. Which is why I want it, it reminds me of the dishes my mother had when I was little…it also matches our kitchen. (both from pottery barn)
