I know a lot of people like the rings to fit snug with the other, but not me. I'm trying to find a few styles for Manfriend to choose from that will have some kind of a space between the e ring and the wedding band. I want a very thin, diamond wedding band - no curvy or chevrons for me, please. But I like the distinction between the sets. Let me see your wedding set with a space betwen the rings, please :)
@mattel: i really think that they are cool too! i love the way they look together... i can't find any pix though, i can't wait to see them! this isn't exactly the same but i want my ring to be combined with a sort of stackable ring look

I would honestly love this band

with this ring

oohh,I like that :) I think to me, when the wedding band buts right up against the e-ring, it looks like the bband of the e-ring is just lopsided. lol. If that makes sense.
totally it does! i love the contoured bands though (as long as there are two of them) but the french square and bezel alternating ring is so cool looking to me, you know?
I don't have any photos close enough to show you, but mine don't sit flush! My E-ring has baguettes and princesses and it tapers while my wedding bands are 7-stone round diamond bands.
Mine are not totally flush but I hardly notice it, my e-ring is a 3 stone so my band sits off just slightly. I didn't want a bent one because I love my band alone and will probably not always wear my e-ring when we have kids, etc.
mine dont sit flush - I bought a different band specifically for that reason. When I tried on a matching band, you could barely tell I had on a wedding band. I dont have a photo of them on, but here is one on the heel of my shoe
I don't have a photo. But my rings don't match or sit close at all. My band was my grandmother's band and it is completely different from my ring. Fortunately, I love the look of non matching rings grouped together and don't really care for a matching set. The matching look seems to planned and modern.
This kind of illustrates the gap - although they sit a lot closer together on my actual finger.
I wanted gaps between my rings, too! They are a matching set but are not contoured to each other so that I can tell they are seperate and I can wear my wedding band alone.
@KellyV this is exactly the look I'm going for - I love that they don't match. Especially because my heart is set (for now, lol) on a large asscher solitaire, and I've only seen a couple asscher bands, none of which I liked.
@Mattel - thats exactly what I was going for. The mismatch actually looks really good on, plus wiith an asscher (I loved those but FI and I both didnt like how it was more of a step cut than a brilliant one)and a cushion (what mine is) they sit a bit mroe flush than the photo you posted bc they tend to be in a bit of a higher setting (unless you have a basket setting). I love my mismatched set though :)
PS-that is my wedding band. Mine is idential. Shared prong eternity
I dont have a wedding band yet, but my ring is made to where a band wont sit flush with it. FI and I considered having a band custom made to contour to my e-ring, but then I wouldnt be able to wear it alone. Here's a pic so that you get the idea...I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with a verrrrrry skinny diamond eternity band, if I can find one that's less than 2mm that looks good with it...
Mine don't sit perfectly flush either (will post pics tonight)!
here's mine alone and with the wedding band - i used to want one that would be flush with the e-ring, but this set is growng on me!
Besides, now I get an excuse to add an identical band on top of it for our 1 year anniversary! :-D
@jess: i love that one!! it was exactly the tought i had in mind when i posted.
Here's mine - I had the darndest time finding a wedding band that matched the yellow diamond...ultimately went with a quasi eternity band with deep set yellow diamonds.
Here's a photo of mine. I like how it's very obvious they are wedding bands, not an asymmetrical engagement ring. I like the "bam" effect =]
@ej: bam is right you're blinding me!
I love everyone's rings! I am having a major drool fest over here!
do you guys think the Tiffany Legacy rings would allow for the uber coveted gap?
@mattel: it better lol.. seriously i tried on the sam's version and the bottom of the square wouldn't allow for a ring to fit snuggly against it.
I LOVE the gap! Everyone tried to convince me to get a contoured band for my 3 stone E-ring. But I definitely didn't want that. So, DH created a band for me and it looks FAB on its own - love it! Plus, I can get another band for an anniversary down the line - i'd love to "even out the look" :) Maybe even stack a totally different band with it....oh the possibilities!
@mattel: I love the tiffany band you posted and I think it would look great as a wedding band!
Here's my "Gap"
And here' the other band that I occasionally stack with my E-ring - sometimes I wear all three together!
Just got my wedding band today. It's actually a ring from a different set but I think they go together perfectly! :D
Here's mine! It doesn't have a big gap, but it definitely has one. I was trying to find a ring that fits flush at first, but there was just NO WAY i was going to find one without one being custom made. So then I saw this, and the gap looks totally intentional and I LOVE them together!
Okay, mine is very minimal, there is only a slight gap at the top, the bands fit flush against one another at the sides and bottom. Excuse the ugly knuckles and the bad picture. I'm not allowed to wear it yet, hehe, so this was a quick shot when we picked up our bands.

I love this thread. I was asking a similar question a week ago. Since then I've fallen IN LOVE with a wedding band that I think goes well with my e-ring. Unfortunately, I am not yet engaged and don't have any pictures of them together, but I will try to post pics of them separately. Here goes nothing.

Yay! It worked. Just ignore to two little boxes with the red xs in them. Not sure why those are there, but the important stuff worked. The ering is Tacori and the band is Kwiat. LOVE THEM!
Yeah, I fell in love with it and have decided that I HAVE to have it. However, that band is SUPER expensive. It's list price is $2300!! eek. I'm hoping the bfs jeweler friend will be able to work out a deal....and then we will STILL have to slowly pay it off. luckily the bf doesnt want a platinum band, too!
@bunny...the way I look at it is that you have to wear it for the rest of your life...so get what you want. Mine was around $1800-1900...didn't even bat an eyelash. If he can work out a payment plan for you that you can comfortably afford, I say do it! It's the one thing after the wedding that we are all left with after the big day, ya know?
Mattel- What do you mean by uber coveted gap? I have the Tif Legacy ring and I've tried on quite a few bands with it to find one that looks the best. I did find one that was curved that fit pretty good at Zales but guess what?... it didn't come in white gold or plat so back to square one. My FI and I have decided we will get the band that Tiffany's suggests to put with it at least that's what we've discussed lately. We still have a few more months before we need to buy anything.
you know, you're totally right 2010bride. I will be wearing that band for the rest of my life, so why not splurge?!! maybe I'll get a decent tax return back, and I can buy it in full! now wouldnt THAT be wonderful!
Here's mine! The wedding band was my great grandmother's so even though it has a gap I love it!
I never realized the "gap" was so desired!
I realy want a wedding bend that wraps up and curves around my diamond... not sure if it's out there or not!
