@soon2bhis: My first thought before I clicked was hmm this should be interesting, but that is really cute! I love penguins, not obsessed, but I love how they walk:) I always used to say I wanted one as a pet and I'd keep him in my bathtub:)
Beautiful garters! Garters were things that I never anticipated spending that much time on, but after seeing all the beautiful inspirations on Weddingbee, I had to find the perfect one!
Mine were custom made Ohio State garters 
since we both went to Ohio State for undergrad and that is where we met each other. I don't know why they are so orangey in the picture, but it's definitely more of a red!

Which one do you keep? The one with the smaller frills or the bigger frills?
I'm making mine--it's going to be kind of ugly, but it's just going to be tossed, so... I didn't want to spend too much time on it!
@jujubride: most garter sets come with 2 so you have one for your hubby to take off and toss, and one for you to keep. A good number of sets have a really fluffy one, to keep, and a more simple one, to toss.
@shushu1208: do you mind telling me where you got your garters made? FH and I are big college football rivals, so I'd really like to incorporate that into my garter, and yours look great!
Here's mine! My mother made it. The lace is actually the lace off of her wedding dress ansd the horseshoe charms because an irish bride needs a horseshoe.
These were mine. We both love the Memphis Grizzlies (NBA). The top one was his...home team. The bottom was the tosser...away team.
@JillBill: Which football teams do you both root for? I got my set on Etsy from Narfer99's shop here. She is totally awesome to work with! She was very responsive to all my questions and messages and was willing to work with me to create an Ohio State garter set. She has a bunch of different teams/themes of garters in her shop, but even if she doesn't already have a specific team that you want, I'm sure she will work with you to create it. Hope it helps!

@shushu1208: oh perfect, thanks! I went to Notre Dame and he went to Pitt, so I figured between the sports rivalry and the fact that both teams are gold and navy blue, I could easily work it into a cute, personalized garter!
Here is a picture of mine that I kept along with my grandma's that she wore on her wedding day, which has been worn by her daughters and then her granddaughters. It was my something blue, something borrowed and something old:) I had a third one that matched mine to throw for the garter toss!
This is mine... The FI doesn't know so it will be a nice surprise although I am not a fan of his team, lol...
I made this one for myself, but I haven't decided if I'll wear it yet.
