Yellow gold was one of my very few preferences for my e-ring and band. Every piece of jewelry I wear is yellow gold. I’m very fair-skinned so I feel like it warms me up a bit.

Very pretty ring!

I’m a fan of yellow gold too.  It’s very gentle on the eye yet luxurious.

winterwoodlandbride15:  Your ring is beautiful! I really love the setting, and it looks gorgeous in yellow gold.

I tend to wear white metals because I have an allergy to some types of gold. But I also like the cooler tones of white metal. Even though I have pretty fair skin, I’ve always thought white metals looked better against it. BUT … When my DH and I got engaged, yellow gold was pretty much all that was out there. It’s so strange to me to read about brides having a hard time finding yellow gold these days, just because of my own experience. (It was a loooong time ago, though. LOL)

Anyhow, my first engagement ring was yellow gold.

winterwoodlandbride15:  Thank you! Why not stack 2 bands – a wooden one and a gold one ….it could look really cool and totally unique  plus you could wear the gold when doing things u might not feel safe wearing the wood one for.

Beautiful rings, ladies! I just love yellow gold 🙂 Here’s mine which I love because my husband designed it and it has some family heirloom components:

I gave my fiance some options as to the kind of ring I wanted, and he picked the right one! I love the way the center stone and baguettes shine in the light and almost take up the entire width of my finger.

winterwoodlandbride15:  Ha, ha! It is so true about how colors and metal types come and go in popularity. When we got engaged, I remember the jewelers we visited all telling me white gold was too “old fashioned” and not “in style”. It makes me laugh now, thinking back on it and given my life experience since then. At the time, though, it made me really sad. So I’m super happy you were able to get exactly what you wanted!!

The one thing I love about today’s ring “trends” is that it seems there are so many more choices for brides and for couples getting engaged. From different types of stones to different metal types. I think it’s wonderful that people have more chance to make a ring choice that truly fits their personalities and lives.

Also, regarding a thin gold band, there is a shop on Etsy that has really lovely “rope” style twist bands. I believe they make them in yellow gold, as well as rose and white. They are about 1 mm or so in size. Not sure what you were looking for in terms of width for a metal band (if you stacked multiple bands), but they are dainty and very pretty.
