I don’t have a picture of it yet as I heven’t ordered it, but we’re creating our own photobook as a guest book with pictures of us or photos that we like that we’ve taken.  We’re using myPublisher as I trust them but there are a multitude of companies out there.

@MrsHoneyC:  Love this! My FI also plays guitar so this would be a good option. What kind of guitar did you use (a cheap one?) What kind of markers did you use? Any issues with them smearing on the finish? How will you display it in your home? Sorry for the questions, I’m just really intrigued by this idea.

We’re not doing a traditional guest book either, simply because I only like them when they’re in alpine huts. So we’re doing a wine box (DIY, painted a vintage box from LCBO that we got for $6):

The idea is that we’ll provide small notes for our guests on which they’ll write words of advice or whatever, they’ll then put the slips in the box, we’ll add a bottle of Trius bubbly and then we’ll seal it until our first anniversary. After that, I guess we keep adding a new bottle that we’ll open each year on the 3rd. 🙂 Oh, and we’ll probably put in a small note to each other as well.

@Jen041815:  haha no worries! i wish it was a cheap guitar DH would have no such thing… Its a Gibson electric guitar. We used archival artist pens, which dried quickly and only have one person (left handed writer lol) smudge theirs. DO NOT use sharpies as over time they will turn purple. It gets displayed on our guiatr wall along with DH other 10+ guitars, it hangs on a special wall hook. We still need to varnish it and seal in the writing on the guitar. But its a nice peice for friends to come over and look at.

My thought is we could do a guest book but honestly… if were being truhful what happens to those? they get placed on a shelf grow dusty and you never look at them. Thats why i LOVED this idea. And frankly our guests were so over the moon happy to ‘autograoh’ a guitar! 🙂

We made up a little sign (cant seem to find the photo of it) which said something along the lines of choose a square, autograph youre name and a message. Careful not to smudge others signatures.

You dont have to but i chose to tape out squares so that everyones signatures would be uniform in size and you didnt have that one guest who wrote their name on 1/2 the guitar 🙂

Hopefully that helped answer any of your questions xo let me know what your DH thinks & if you have any other questions for me.

My original idea was a puzzle guest book (http://www.etsy.com/listing/95408778/15-20-pc-wedding-puzzle-guest-book-can?ref=sr_gallery_38&ga_search_query=puzzle+guest+book&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_ship_to=US&ga_search_type=all) but they are quite expensive.

We are doing a photo guestbook type idea.  I have three open frames, guestes hold up one they like, pose and get their picture taken.  Then I have little wish tags for them to write a note.  I plan to make a scrapbook using all the photos and attaching the tags to each.
