I can’t really help as it will only be FI and I in Hawaii on our wedding so the actually “wedding” budget is not that much, however I was wondering what island you were planning on going too?

I suggest contacting a few wedding coordinators/planners and giving them your parameters and ideal budget. They will be able to tell you what is best for your needs. I’ve been doing research for my wedding, and anticipate paying $3-5 thousand for a simple ceremony, officiant, guitar, floral, and a dinner after (at a restaurant) for 20-30 people.This price estimate includes coordination fees.

@penguinbee:  We are having about 50 people at the Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua in Maui, and expect to spend about $30,000 including our 10-day hotel stay at the Ritz.

@FLBlonde93:  Do you mind sharing the non-accommodations costs? Interested in the Ritz (I know it isn’t in alignment with my estimate above, but I’m just exploring options!)

@anemily:  I am happy to share!  I would also be happy to email you the wedding package information/price sheets, catering menus, etc. if you like.  If that would be helpful, just send me your email address in a private message.

I included the hotel stay in our $30,000 estimate only because the wedding package we selected includes three nights of accomodations and an upgrade to an ocean-view suite.

We are spending about $15,000 on food and drinks, $10,000 on our ceremony including florals and music, and another $2,000 plus on extra photos, reception decor, and reception music.  As our wedding isn’t until January, the cost could still change as we add things, but we feel certain we will not go above $30,000.

The Ritz offers preset ceremony packages at $6,300, $7,500, and $13,500.  These include elements that cover everything from florals, live music, the officiant, limousine transfer, cake, and hotel nights to dove releases.  You can customize and add to the packages.  We have made multiple upgrades to ours with floral, music, a conch blower for the ceremony, etc.

We are doing a sit down dinner and it will be about $15,000 for 50 people. The cost for our food, cake, champagne toast, liquor, wine, etc. will come out to about $300 per person after we account for tax, gratutity, etc..  The dinner packages start as low as about $100 for the meal, not including appetizers, alcoholic drinks, and such.  The menu you select, appetizers, number of bar hours, etc. really changes the price.

We have been very happy with the service they have provided at the Ritz.  It’s a beautiful five diamond resort, and the staff we have dealt with have lived up to our five diamond expectations thus far.  Planning a wedding long distance, you have to trust people on so many things you can’t see for yourself, so it was important to us that we use a brand we can trust.

We are getting married in Maui. About 35 guests is going to cost us around $20-25k, but we could have done this much more affordably as well.

@nixietink:  Where in Maui will you be having your wedding?  Your day is VERY soon if the date on your profile is correct.  You must be so excited!  January feels so far away to me still!

@FLBlonde93:  Yep, that is the date! It is VERY soon! I really can’t believe it.

I am getting married at the Olowalu Plantation House. I’d be happy to give you a estimated cost breakdown if you’d like!

@nixietink:  I am so excited for you- that is a beautiful place.  And I wish mine was in 2 weeks instead of in 6 months!  I saw a lot of photos taken at your venue on my photographer’s website, and it is gorgeous!  I am sure you will have a beautiful wedding and wonderful vacation!

@anemily:  You are most welcome!
