Hey Bees!
I'm looking for some invitation inspiration, and in a bit of a hurry to get inspired (long story!) but super busy at work :/. Help me out by sending me your invites or invite inspirations so I don't spend the whole day google searching invites, and can get some work done. We are having a more traditional, formal wedding, so will probably have similar invites, but I'd love to see your favorites. THANK YOU!!!!
We had a two ceremony, two reception wedding--one hindu and one american--and we wanted our invitiations to reflect our fusion/cultural theme.
Here were ours!

Mine are for vistaprint.
ETA woops my invites aren't very forma. Even though our wedding is lol
These were ours with the following changes:
-Formal script in smoke grey
-Black bottom layer
-White ribbon with just a twist

We had a traditional and formal wedding too. Our invites are one of our favorite details. They are a custom design and are engraved printing.

Who says my B.A. in Urban planning never did anything for me?
Ours were very themey....but I feel the invite card alone was a little more modern and traditional.

Invite sheet once removed from the mountain wrap:
All the cards so you can see. First is the packaged invite, then all the sides of the 2 cards showing the invite details and lastly the invite packet that the 2 cards slid into. That was my favorite thing about them. I designed it to look like a vintage travel ski poster...and for the record it was my husband's idea. He just made me fingure out how to make them. ;)
I don't think you can make a wrong decision with an invite. There are SO many options out there....good luck!
These are gorgeous! Thank you for all the posts! I have a good amount of flexibility in the invites... I like the pocket style, but not sure I'm sold. I love the idea of the multiple sheets tho, are there anymore ideas of multi sheets invites?
These were a labor of love. All made from scratch....designed, printed, cut out and assembled. Never again!
@loving_life: I love yours! Did you get the stationary at Staples? I wish we would have did that. We went with weddingpaperdivas and I'm not too happy.

We have these but in our wedding colors (the blue was replaced with turquoise and the red with gold). I'm just ordering the invites now! They're really pretty but the communication with the lady takes forever.
Here is ours. I wasn't very happy with them. We ordered 200 and I didn't feel as though the quality was up to par with what I read about weddingpaperdivas.com online. The envelopes were nearly transparent, as well. I shouldn't have waited to last minute to order.
@greenidlady: Aw, really? I think yours look awesome! Yes, we ended up getting the paper from Staples - we were just looking for paper to print the pattern onto but then I loved the gold border! However, the envelopes are also pretty thin. I thought about replacing them, but then my sister laughed at me, so I've addressed and stamped them but now I kind of want to change my mind :-/ (only 27 invitations so I could, theoretically, get new ones......)
@greenidlady: aside from an your envelopes not being what you expected, your invitations are gorgeous!
@loving_life: Thank you! That makes me feel better. No one really said anything after I received them and sent them out. I think the envelopes you get when purchasing greeting cards at the department store or Hallmark are far better than mine. I don't suppose our guests will examine these things like we do though.:-)
@reynaweddingbee: thank you! I appreciate that, it makes me feel better.:-)
@loving_life: Not that I encourage the onslaught of added stress we brides bring upon ourselves, but PaperPresentation.com had amazingly high quality envelopes (I ordered the matte envelopes and they were like card stock).. However, like your sister probably told you already, the envelopes just get thrown away anyhow :P.
This is the picture from the website where I ordered my pics, so it's not my actual invite. I love the design I chose!

@reynaweddingbee: honestly I would get new ones except that I know I won't get an ivory color that exactly matches the cardstock so it would drive me crazy unless I did a different color or something :-/ the pros and cons of perfectionism...
@loving_life: Thank you, love!! Yours are beautiful too... gosh, I love gold accents. Love BrooklynWife's too!
@Khalessi3: This is so cute. Where did you get these? Or is there a template?
Mine! Ceremony, reception, map & RSVP card all designed and assembled by me. I love paper.

My fiance and I wanted more simple invitations. I think the ones we chose are quite classy looking. I love how it has multiple layers to it...

Our invites were very clean and classic And I loved how shimmery they were in person.
Sorry this is just my DIY effort but we had a formal wedding and I thought I did a good job making them formal even if they were very simple :)

@FairyWinkle: minted.com, I really liked them but I must say the invite feels very small. Not bad, just smaller than I expected.
Ours are from Minted (: they were offering free colour customization so we were able to change the background colour.

@Whitwhit1689: thank you! Oddly enough, these were the only ones Jack liked so I knew I had to get them :)
