I love them too, and have almost talked the boyfriend into them. There was a great picture on this board (I think in a thread about groomsmen not wearing jackets) that helped me to convince him. Now- I just have to work on his mother (who thinks that they are ugly).
My only issue is that I don't want the groomsmen to have to buy suits, so I'm not sure what we are going to do there.
ETA: this is the thread http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/groom-wears-a-blazer-groomsmen-do-notstrange-looking
I'm in the same boat. I have to
(1) convince my FI to use khaki suits for the wedding (he has this idea in his head that grooms and groomsman should only wear black tuxes, probably because that's the only thing he has ever seen at a wedding). But we are getting married outside in the summer....HELLO!....If that's not an appropriate time for a khaki suit then I don't know when is!
and (2) find a place that will rent these. I have a feeling I'm going to have a problem with this. I've been putting it off. I just think it's too expensive to request that everyone purchase a suit.
sirouhi: As well as convincing my FI I also have to convince his mother who had a less than enthusiastic response when I told her about my idea.
My fiance and his groomsmen will be wearing this suit from jims formal wear

ALOT of places rent jims formalwear suits. You can look them up by state on their website. We are getting married on the beach so there was no doubt in my mind I wanted the men in Khaki. My man took a little convincing but when I told him he could wear the brown leather flip flops too, he was sold!
Here's a pic I took of it at the tux shop with the pool colored tie the groomsmen will wear:
The Jim's suit is nice, but if you're looking for a true khaki there are better ones. Call some tux shops in your area and see if one carries the Catalina in tan by After Six. Or you can call A6 directly and ask for a referral: (800)554-8212 Good luck!
we are planning on doing this as well, i didn't have to convince my FI, however, i just realized the suits must be bpurchased if we go this route. this weekend we actually went to mens warehouse and the sales associate told me to
a) start checking w/them in feb. when they get an abundance of "lighter" suits and
b) keep my eyes open for their sales, as they often have buy one get one FREE and buy one get one 1/2 off deals.
No, they DON'T have to be purchased (does anyone actually read anything but the first post on this board?). Unless they have any further use for the suit, most guys would rather rent than buy. Men's Wearhouse doesn't rent suits because they want to sell you one, but most tux shops do-- check around.

I am in love with the idea of my FI and his groomsmen wearing khaki suits for our July wedding next summer. However, I just need to convince him that they look as good as I think they do. Has anyone used them/been to a wedding where the guys wore khaki? I'd love to see some pics!
