- Wedding: June 2016
So here is the backstory: for our wedding party, I have asked 7 bridesmaids and my fiance has asked 7 groomsmen. So that is a bridal party of 16 people. We are really set on inviting the bridal parties significant others to join us at the head table – I feel like it a nice gesture and nobody wants to eat dinner while their wife/husband/fiance/girlfriend/boyfriend sits at a table with someone else. We really want our whole reception to be fun for everyone and so this is a very important aspect to us in terms of making sure everyone has a good time.
Right now I’m thinking of doing one long table with one person at either and and then 14 people on either side. My fiance and I would be seated in the middle of these 14 people facing the dance floor. Behind us is a balcony with french doors that run the whole length of the ballroom, so the 14 people on the opposite side from us would not be staring at a wall during dinner, there is technically a view.
My question is what do you guys think about this set up? Is it too many people at one table? Has anyone had a head table like this before and if so could you post photos or offer any insight as to whether you would do it again if you had the chance, or make changes to this arrangement? Are there any other options for us? (Note: We do not want to do a sweetheart table.)
Thanks in advance!
