I got a ring at Fred Meyer Jewelers a while back (who are the same company as Littman Jewelers) that isnt an engagement ring, so it doesnt get use that often, and twice I have lost side stones on it. Not to mention they damaged my ring once during a cleaning, claimed it came in that way and initially refused to fix it.

The ring is beautiful and I love it, but I would definitely recommend getting their lifetime warranty. The ring would be garbage if I hadnt bought that and used it to have them replace the missing stones and the damage that they caused.

I have a Neil Lane halo from Kay’s. It was fine for about 11 months and then for the last 6 it’s been off my finger and being fixed more then it’s been on. The diamonds in the halo keep falling out. They added more metal to one side and left a glob there. Its been dipped 2 times in a year and is turning colors again. Its been a disaster, and they will not do anything besides keep sending it back out for repairs.

My ring is from Peoples/Zales. As you say, they can have lower quality diamonds but their bridal section has some nice stones and good prices. What I love about these stores is the lifetime warranty. I’ve needed repairs and maintenance, as well as the soldering of my wedding band and it’s all included with the warranty!! That’s worth a lot, since we wear those rings everyday and they get TONS of bad treatment 😉

Since I wear my rings all the time, I’ve had one stone fall off and the entire top of my ring come off too (I know, yikes!). But I hit my ring on things and simply do not take it off. I was very happy that Zales took my rings in and fixed it all up at no charge (with the warranty). I also had my custom band made from them since I love the service so much 😉

I have also purchased a moissanite band from moissaniteco and I adore it…but I’m afraid if it ever looses a stone it will mean expenses. Sending the ring to the US (I’m in Canada), paying for the repairs and the stones, etc.

Something to think about! 😉

My original e-ring was from Zales (picture below) and I wore it for 3 years. I never lost a stone and held up great! The color was great but it was still an I1 stone but could not see the inclusions from the top, from the side and bottom I could see them. When we upgraded, I traded in that ring for my current center stone (top picture). The current stone is their Celebration 102, G in color, VS2 in clarity. The stone sparkles like crazy and I am very happy with the quality. The setting and w-band is not from Zales.

Love mine – Neil Lane from Kay’s. Been 8 months now and no problems. Can’t wait to get my band in a few months. Cushion cut, halo, split shank. Love the detail.

My e-ring is a 1ctw 3 stone channel set ring from zales and I’ve had it 2yrs…. I’ve never lost a stone and I almost never take it off. It also has never been re-dipped. The lifetime warranty is also a plus and is valid as long as I take it In every 6 months to be checked. No complaints here. 🙂

My e-ring and w band semi-mounts are from Jared.  My solitaire is a GIA graded marquise that was purchased through Jared, but had to be ordered in.  The stones in my w band are heirloom from my late parents.  Both rings (yes, even the solitaire) are custom from the bench jewelers at Jared.  I have had absolutely no problems with either of them.

My ring is from People’s (Canada’s Kay’s). I have hardly taken it off in the 3 years I’ve owned it, and never had a single issue. I am hard on my rings too…forever knocking them into things, etc.

I do have a smaller solitaire that was given to me by DH when we were teenagers, as a promise ring. The stone is probably .2ct, and has a noticable inclusion, but the ring itself has been very durable.

my bf and I bought my ering from kays. it’s getting sized for the first time now. I can not comment on the durability of the ring but the quality of the stones are beautiful! It’s an almost 2ct center tanzanite, with 1ct tw for the halo and side diamonds. I don’t know the color ratings.

So do far a nice experience.
