This is the gown my mom chose:
She couldn't find a MOB dress that she liked so she got a BM dress (AA style# 7050).
She's considering getting this dress in a tealish color.

@lady: who is that dress by? My mom refuses to wear anything "shiny" so that might be perfect!
This is the dress my mom got from Macy's...but in a dark blueish color. I basically went through Macy's website and picked out anything i liked and sent it to her. That was easiest for us.

@Irwedd - the dress in Lady's picture is from the dessy group.
We (okay, I) are letting the moms wear whatever they want, as long as it doesn't clash incredibly with the color palette. Both of our moms are pretty hip and stylish and don't want anything too frumpy so they'll probably get really pretty dresses on their own.
My mom emailed me earlier this week and said that she likes this dress:
It matches the wedding colors pretty well.

@Danadelphia - i'm so happy you opted for those sdt! I remember your post deciding between that one and one with a photo. while both were cute, i just ADORE the little guys dangling from the balloon!!
My mom is wearing the printed one, MOG is wearing the taupe one. It's a pretty casual outdoor wedding.

Ugh, my mom and MOG are having the worst time finding dresses. Neither wants to spend much. We have actually found some decent options at Ross, Nordstrom Rack, Marshalls, etc. but no home runs yet.
My mom wants to wear a black floor-length gown. I think she'd look smashing, but everyone seems to be really against this because it's not "typical" for a MOH. Is that wrong?
No way Miss Burgundy! If you're cool with it and your mom loves the dress, who cares what anyone thinks?!

The other thing is my mom is very tiny, she's a size 4 Petite but I am not sure where to go to get her formalware! Most of the department stores had a small rack for petites and that was it!
@missburgundy my mom has the same issue! she is a tiny lady and the choices are NOT great :X I love the dress she found tho :)
@dana- where is that dress from? I woudln't mind it for my rehearsal dinner!
