I always imagined wearing an almost choker-length pearl necklace with small beads with my white wedding dress, but FI wants me to go with a slightly longer necklace with larger pearl beads. So show me your necklace pictures to help us!

I love pearls. I think the style depends on your dress, but longer is often better for the brides I have seen in the past. What does your dress look like?

I dont have A seperate photo, so i apologize for giving you my entire collage lol but here is my necklace and dress (and everything else… ). i would love to wear pearls but my mother wont let me. (Apparently theres some old myth that is bad luck ) so i chose a bling necklace that is similar to a strand of pearls to get a similar look.

MrsYoshida: I’m wearing a crystal necklace, but I think it depends on your dress! Some dresses look better with pearls and some look better with something else.
What does your dress look like?

I wore a big statement crystal necklace. If I had put a poll up of my dress beforehand asking if I should go with a stmt necklace the vote would probably have been no because I had so much detail in my dress. But I did it anyway because it was so ME. So I think it depends on the dress and on your personal style. You want it to be individualized, not like the next girl wearing that dress will look the same way.
I Would post a pic but those pics aren’t on my phone and the new WB doesn’t save old images you posted any longer. … what the crap?

I wore a statement amethyst necklace

I am either going to wear a sapphire necklace that my FI got me, or something tbd from my grandmother.
i don’t have a picture of the necklace from FI, this is the same one tho, mine is just sapphire not amethyst.

I think my strand of pearls was 17 inches. I tried cropping a picture to show the necklace with my dress, but my boobs just ended up being the center of the photo, and I’m not sure I want to upload that to WB without the power to delete it later.
What does your dress look like? What necklace looks good will all depend on that.

I wore an heirloom pearl necklace my grandmother had given me, it was my “something old” and was my way of including her in the wedding.

I am wearing a pretty simple dress, so I thought about playing around with my jewelry. I too have always envisioned wearing pearls, but since I chose a simple dress, I wanted to add color and personality to my jewelry. I think these two necklaces kinda do that without being too distracting.
I think for YOU to decide what jewelry you are going to wear, you need to take into account your dress style and the overall look you are going for. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of the neckalces you posted about since pearls are pretty classic and IMO go with most everything!

I don’t have a good picture of it, but I wore a tiny, delicate necklace my mom wore on her wedding day! I wasn’t planning on wearing a necklace, but that was too sweet to pass up! They are still married many years later, so lots of good ju ju there!

Thank you for your replies everyone! This is my dress (ignore the plastic test ribbon) though I’m strongly condidering changing the neckline to a sweetheart if it’s affordable.
So a tulle ballgown with a currently straight neckline 🙂

I’m not a blingy or pearl person – I went with a chunky turquoise necklace. Loved it!

I also only have my “real look” board. All of these items are what I’m using/wearing.

MrsYoshida: i don’t have a picture, but my dress is a mermaid with a sweetheart neckline – i’m wearing a white gold chain with a single diamond solitaire that my grandmother gave to me as a wedding gift (it is the diamond that was in her engagement ring before she replaced it)…its so beautiful.
