We went with a "champagne" color... it was scary though, because none of the designer's sample dresses on the rack had the color, so we put the order in after just seeing the small square swatch, and the color could look completely different on a whole dress! We were super nervous because some of the girls were fair, and that color can either look like skin tone and wash everyone out, or it can be pretty. Luckily, the sheen looked more luxe and we loved the dresses!
I think neutrals are the way to go because they're elegant and timeless, IMO.
I really wanted neutral bm's dresses... love the look of champagne or taupe with black.
Here's some ideas~ I'm still trying to track down a pic of the dress I had hoped to use...

BCBG

(sorry it's so small) Liz Fields

I think this is so pretty!
Just some ideas!
I've seen this last picture before- absolutely stunning! I'm thinking what a great idea to do different bridesmaids dresses in neutral tones- loving it!
Any comments on the BCBG bridesmaids' dress? I am thinking of having my bridesmaids wear it for my wedding and using their bouquets to add the touch of pink I wanted in the wedding.
@AajJONES: That BCBG dress is definitely a statement maker. I like it, but I guess it depends on how your girls feel about showing off their legs because that slit looks fairly high.
This is one of my inspiration pics:

Hoping to create a similar look with these dresses, which are "Champagne":
But in person, "Champagne" is very close to ivory (see pic below), so I'm debating between that and a pearl pink, or some combo (e.g. MOH in champagne, other girls in pearl pink).
@MissTaken: I LOVE your dress and the combination with the bridesmaid dresses! that is exactly the look and feel I'm going for I'm so happy to see it works so well.
Thanks!
@MissTaken: LOVE the dresss, where did you get them? I'm shopping around for bridesmaids dresses right now in exactly that style and color sheme. Thanks.
Does anyone know the style name of the Lis Fields dresses?
Bumping this up because I'd love to see more. I'm considering doing a khaki/beige color in a chiffon-type fabric for my wedding. I don't want anything too light though, and nothing that just looks lke plain ole 'brown', so I'm having a bit of a tough time finding something. I might just end up going with my second option - which is a deep tealish blue.
@johnnalynnj i have seen you post your bm dress in a few places, and I love it! where is it from??
@SapphireSun: Which dress collection/colour did you go with? Looks similar to what I was thinking for my girls!
I love the J Crew picks! Maybe I will end up doing khaki after all, some of these are so cute!
@BlushingMonk: hi! if that's a dessy group dress can you please let me know the color? Cameo? Palomino? Thank you! also looking for the a neutral color palette, but worried a light 'champagne' dress will photograph too similar to my soft white dress

I'm interested in neutral colors for my bridesmaids although I haven't really picked a palette yet I'm hoping to see how a neutral color scheme (nudes, beiges, grays, taupes, bronzes, blacks) turned out. I want it to look sophisticated but not somber. How did your dresses turn out?
