I WANT A PIT SO BAD!
But I rent (still in school), and pits are usually on the "No" list, so alas I have to wait until I am a bit more stable :/ I do have a lab/chow mix that some people think looks part pit though!
I just wanted to chime in and say that I thought you meant Armpits :-P WOOPS!

Here is my Pit/Lab mix (the second love of my life!) and our then 6-week old Golden Retriever/Irish Setter mix (the third love of my life, hehe).
He is now 8 months and a head taller than her and weights 20 more lbs!!!

I've posted this pic before, but it's the only pic where all 5 of us (family pic) are in it together!!! They're all pit mixes, they're all adopted, and they're all super sweet! Mostly because we treat them like our babies :)

Here's my baby girl, taking a snooze (what she does best) and all buckled up and ready to go for a ride with daddy. And also one from when she was younger and wasn't all gray, she's almost 8 now. 
She's an american bull dog mix so she's quite a bit bigger than a pure pit, I love her to pieces. She is truly my first child
I love pitbulls but I don't have one yet because we're renters. But after we close on our house on the 23rd, I will be looking for a grey and white one like this.

i personally dont have a pit but i have "adopted" my SO one. She is gorgeous.... She was resuced from a bad home when she was 5 months old and still shows some scared faces (like the pic).... i wish i had other ones of her on my comptuer....
never mind... i dont know how to put the pics in... :-(
I dont personally have a pit bull, but I know one, and I just love him, and want to steal him from our friends. It does break my heart though when people say they are vicious and need to be destroyed, when they really are such sweet dogs if put with the right person, who isn't going to train it to fight.

They're not technically mine, but I have adopted BF's dogs as mine anyway. :)

I keep trying to talk my fiance into adopting a Pittie with me, but he's still resisting. His parents bred Golden Retrievers when he was a kid, so he has his heart set on a Golden. Clearly, I need to show him the pictures in this thread :)

Am I the only one afraid of pit bulls? One tried to attack me once (lunged, snarly, teeth showing) and ever since I've been terrified.
Lol not all pits are bad thats just the image dumb people protray them as because ive had a rottweiler attack me and a lil chiuahua but im not scared of them its sometimes there just trying to be protective and other times there just being a bi*** but thats just like us humans sometimes we are bi***es to and other times we are not. Thats just my opinion.
@chicagowife - You are definitely not the only one afraid of pitbulls. The thing to remember is that dogs are individuals and their behavoir isn't dictated by their breed. There are, of course, bad apples in every bunch but there are necessarily more in one breed as opposed to another.
I would definitely recommend learning now to read canine body language (a wagging tail doesn't always equal friendly!) I think you'll find that will go a long ways towards helping you feel comfortable around dogs regardless of their breed. And also help you figure out just how quickly you need to leave if you're ever in another scary situation!

I love my girls :) Alma is the white one with freckles and Paige is brown. They're about a year old right now. They're also half sisters, 3 months apart.

Oh my goodness these pups are so cute.
Here is my lab mix. We think his dad might have been a pitty but we're not sure. 
here is our Pit mix. His mom was purebred yellow lab used for bredding and got pregnant by an "unknown" dog. I strongly believe he is part pit.
@Chicagowife-we clearly aren't afraid of them if we own them. Every breed of dog came be dangerous. Pits are actually very sweet and good with children.
Here's mine never laying on her pillow correctly, and then investigating the new "animal" in the garden.

Here's my mom's Jazz-y Boy! His real name is Jazz, and he's a Pt-Boxer mix. We got him from Animal Rescue when he was four. He's 11 now and still going strong :) Sorry for his crazy eyes in this photo. He's the sweetest boy.
All things considered, I'm more afraid of Chiuahuas (sp?) than Pits. I've met too many sweetheart pitbulls and so many mean little dogs it boggles my mind that people portray the Pit as such a mean dog. All of your babies are adorable!!
